Erkka Viktor Lehtola (born 23 January 1972) is a Finnish football manager and a former player who played as a forward. He is currently working as the head coach of Finland U17 national team.
After playig in the HJK Helsinki youth sector, [1] Lehtola played for various clubs in the Greater Helsinki area. He won the Finnish championship title with HJK in 1997, and the 1998 Finnish Cup. He was also part of the HJK squad that historically qualified for the UEFA Champions League group stage in 1998–99. [2]
After retiring as a player, Lehtola has managed FC Espoo and IF Gnistan. He has also worked as a youth coach for Finnish FA, Uusimaa area [3] [4] and HJK, and as a coaching director of HJK youth sector. [5] Since 2017, Lehtola is a head coach of Finland U17 national team. [6] [7] [8] [9] [10]
Lehtola is a regular football pundit for Yle during international tournaments. [11] [12] [13] [14]
He has publicly campaigned against the nicotine use in sports. [15] Lehtola has also criticized the previous "Fair Play - Kaikki pelaa" system of Finnish FA. [16]
Helsingin Jalkapalloklubi, commonly known as HJK Helsinki, or simply as HJK, is a Finnish football club based in Helsinki. The club competes in Veikkausliiga, the top division of the Finnish football league system. Founded in 1907, the club has spent most of its history in the top tier of Finnish football. The club's home ground is the 10,770-seat Bolt Arena, where they have played their home games since 2000.
Erkka Westerlund was the head coach of the Finnish national men's ice hockey team. He was appointed head coach on November 1, 2004, and his contract ended in May 2007, after winning silver in Moscow's World Championship tournament. He followed Raimo Summanen as head coach of the national team.
Përparim Hetemaj is a Finnish football coach and a former professional footballer who last played as a midfielder for Veikkausliiga club HJK. Born in Kosovo, Hetemaj arrived in Finland when he was six years old and played for HJK's youth teams; signing a professional contract in 2004 at age 17. He joined Greek side AEK Athens in 2006, and moved to Twente in 2009. Subsequently, in 2010, he was signed by Brescia and was transferred to Chievo in 2011. Hetemaj played a total of 300 matches in the Serie A, before returning to Finland in 2022 after a season with Reggina in the Serie B.
