Ethmia iranella is a moth in the family Depressariidae. It has been recorded from Asia Minor, Syria, Iran, [3] Spain, [a] Portugal, [4] Hungary, Romania, Greece [2] and southern Russia. It has recently been recorded from France [5] and Italy. [2]
The species was first described as a subspecies of Ethmia bipunctella , [2] with type locality Elburs, Iran. [3] It was later recognized as valid, separate species with a wider distribution. [2]
The host-plant or host-plants of this species are not yet known, but Boraginaceae is likely. [2]
