European Universities Volleyball Championships

The European Universities Volleyball Championships were the first championships, along with the European Universities Basketball Championships, to be included on the EUSA Sports Program.

European University Sports Association

European University Sports Association (EUSA) is an umbrella non-governmental (NGO) non-profit organisation, working in the field of university sport in Europe.

European Universities Championships (EUC) are university sports competitions governed by the European University Sports Association (EUSA). There are currently 23 sports in which the championships are organised. Participants in these events are European university teams and individuals.

The European Universities Basketball Championships were the first championships, along with the European Universities Volleyball Championships, to be included on the EUSA Sports Program. Organised annually since 2001, the European Universities Basketball Championships are coordinated by the European University Sports Association, along with the 18 other sports on the program of the European Universities Championships.

European Universities Handball Championships were included on the EUSA Sports Program in 2006 and have been organised annually since.

European Universities Rugby 7s Championships were included in the EUSA Sports Program in 2007 and are organised annually since.

European Universities Football Championships were first organised in 2003, they have been organised annually since.

European Universities Bridge Championships were the first organised in 2009 and have been organised on a bi-annual basis since.

European Universities Golf Championships were included on the EUSA Sports Program in 2009 and are organised on a bi-annual basis since.

European Universities Tennis Championships were the first organised in 2004 and have been organised annually since. They are coordinated by the European University Sports Association along with the 18 other sports on the program of the European universities championships.

European Universities Beach Volleyball Championships were the first organised in 2004. Apart from 2014, they have been organized annually.

European Universities Badminton Championships were the first organised in 2004 and have been organised annually since.

The European Universities Rowing Championships were first organised in 2005 and were held annually until 2011. In 2012 the first European Universities Games were held, and thereafter the Games will take place in even years, with the European Universities Championships in individual sports taking place in odd years.

European Universities Judo Championships Judo competition

European Universities Judo Championships were the first organised in 1961. The 2nd edition was planned to be hosted in August 1962 in Huizingen (Belgium). In 1964 the championships were held in Delft (Holland). They were not repeated until 2011 (Sarajevo), 2013 (Coimbra) and 2015 (Paris). They are reinvented as part of European Universities Games.

European Universities Taekwondo Championships were the first organised in 2009 and are organised every two years.

European Universities Table Tennis Championships were the first organised in 2007 and have been organised annually since.

The 2012 European Universities Games, were the first European Universities Games, hosted by Córdoba, Spain between July 13 and 23, 2012.

The European Universities Games (EUG) is an international multi-sport event, organized every two years for university athletes by the European University Sports Association (EUSA). The first edition was held in 2012 in Cordoba, Spain. On April 9, 2016 the EUSA General Assembly in Wrocław, Poland announced Belgrade, Serbia to host the 2020 Edition.

The 2018 European University Games was the fourth biannual European Universities Games (EUG). It was held in Coimbra, Portugal from 15 July to 28 July and was organised by the European University Sports Association (EUSA) and Portuguese University Sport Federation (FADU) with the cooperation of University of Coimbra, Municipality of Coimbra, and the Academic Association of Coimbra (AAC).

The 2020 European University Games is the 5th biannual European Universities Games (EUG). It was scheduled to be held in Belgrade, Serbia from 12 July to 26 July. The new dates proposed for the competition are from 14 July to 27 July 2021. The event will involve 21 different sporting disciplines in the sports programme. It will be organised by the European University Sports Association (EUSA) and University Sports Federation of Serbia with the special cooperation alongside University of Belgrade. However, this event was postponed to 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic on 27 March 2020.
