Euryarthron is a genus in the beetle family Cicindelidae. There are more than 20 described species in Euryarthron, found in Africa. [1] [2]
These 22 species belong to the genus Euryarthron:
Tiger beetles are a family of beetles, Cicindelidae, known for their aggressive predatory habits and running speed. The fastest known species of tiger beetle, Rivacindela hudsoni, can run at a speed of 9 km/h, or about 125 body lengths per second. As of 2005, about 2,600 species and subspecies were known, with the richest diversity in the Oriental (Indo-Malayan) region, followed by the Neotropics. While historically treated as a subfamily of ground beetles (Carabidae) under the name Cicindelinae, several studies since 2020 indicated that they should be treated as a family, the Cicindelidae, which are a sister group to Carabidae within the Adephaga.
Lophyra is a genus of tiger beetles in the family Cicindelidae capable of flight. They are found in Africa, Asia, and Europe
Bennigsenium is a genus in the beetle family Cicindelidae. There are about 11 described species in Bennigsenium, found in Africa.
Brasiella is a genus of tiger beetles in the family Cicindelidae. There are more than 50 described species in Brasiella.
Dromica is a genus in the beetle family Cicindelidae. There are at least 190 described species in Dromica, found in Africa.
Jansenia is a genus in the beetle family Cicindelidae. There are at least 40 species in the genus, all of which are found only in South Asian region, with several endemic to India and Sri Lanka. The genus is characterized on the basis of the male genitalia.
Leptognatha is a genus in the beetle family Cicindelidae. There are more than 30 described species in Leptognatha.
Megacephala is a small genus of beetles in the family Cicindelidae restricted to Africa; it was formerly a much larger genus, but its constituent species have been subsequently placed in other genera, primarily Tetracha, but also Grammognatha, Metriocheila, Phaeoxantha, and Pseudotetracha.
Myriochila is a genus of tiger beetles in the family Cicindelidae, containing the following species:
Neocollyris is a genus of tiger beetles in the family Cicindelidae, in the tribe Collyridini.
Oxycheila is a genus in the beetle family Cicindelidae. There are more than 50 described species in Oxycheila.
Polyrhanis is a genus in the beetle family Cicindelidae. There are more than 50 described species in Polyrhanis.
Pseudoxycheila is a genus of beetles in the family Cicindelidae, containing the following species:
Salpingophora is a genus of beetles in the family Cicindelidae, containing the following species:
Thopeutica is a genus of tiger beetles in family Cicindelidae. There are more than 100 described species in Thopeutica, located in Indonesia and the Philippines.
Cicindelini is a tribe of tiger beetles in the family Cicindelidae, containing the overwhelming majority of genera and species in the family. There are more than 90 genera and 2,000 described species in Cicindelini.
Ptilodactylidae is a family of beetles belonging to the Elateriformia. There around 500 extant species in 35 genera. They are generally associated with riparian and aquatic habitats. The larvae generally live associated with rotting wood or vegetation, or within gravel and detritus on the edge of water bodies. The larvae of some species feed on submerged rotting wood or on plant roots, while the adults of some species are known to feed on fungus with modified brush-like maxillae.
Megacephalini is a tribe of big-headed tiger beetles in the family Cicindelidae.
