Exitianus exitiosus, the gray lawn leafhopper, is a species of leafhopper in the family Cicadellidae. [1] [2]
These two subspecies belong to the species Exitianus exitiosus:
A leafhopper is the common name for any species from the family Cicadellidae. These minute insects, colloquially known as hoppers, are plant feeders that suck plant sap from grass, shrubs, or trees. Their hind legs are modified for jumping, and are covered with hairs that facilitate the spreading of a secretion over their bodies that acts as a water repellent and carrier of pheromones. They undergo a partial metamorphosis, and have various host associations, varying from very generalized to very specific. Some species have a cosmopolitan distribution, or occur throughout the temperate and tropical regions. Some are pests or vectors of plant viruses and phytoplasmas. The family is distributed all over the world, and constitutes the second-largest hemipteran family, with at least 20,000 described species.
Hecalini is a tribe of leafhoppers in the family Cicadellidae. There are about 24 genera and over 180 described species divided into two subtribes in Hecalini.
Excultanus is a genus of leafhoppers in the family Cicadellidae. There are about eight described species in Excultanus.
Forcipata is a genus of leafhoppers in the family Cicadellidae. There are at least 20 described species in Forcipata.

Menosoma cincta is a species of leafhopper in the family Cicadellidae, found in North, Central, and South America. The species is also referred to as Menosoma cinctum.
Coelidiinae is a subfamily of leafhoppers in the family Cicadellidae. There are at least 8 tribes, 108 genera, and over 900 species in Coelidiinae.
Texananus is a genus of leafhoppers in the family Cicadellidae. There are at least 50 described species in Texananus.
Draeculacephala is a genus of leafhoppers. It is one of the most common and widespread genera of leafhoppers in the New World. There are at least 25 described species in Draeculacephala.
Opsius stactogalus, the tamarix leafhopper, is a species of leafhopper in the family Cicadellidae. It is found in Europe and Africa.
Opsius is a genus of leafhoppers in the family Cicadellidae. There are about 19 described species in Opsius.
Kunzeana kunzei is a species of leafhopper in the family Cicadellidae.
Kunzeana is a genus of leafhoppers in the family Cicadellidae. There are more than 30 described species in Kunzeana.
Acinopterus angulatus, the angulate leafhopper, is a species of leafhopper in the family Cicadellidae.
Acinopterus is a genus of leafhoppers in the family Cicadellidae. There are more than 30 described species in Acinopterus. The members of Acinopterus are widely distributed across North and South America. Acinopterus is the type genus of the tribe Acinopterini.
