Morocco's relationships vary greatly between African, Arab, and Western states. Morocco has had strong ties with the West in order to gain economic and political benefits. France and Spain remain the primary trade partners, as well as the primary creditors and foreign investors in Morocco. From the total foreign investments in Morocco, the European Union invests approximately 73.5%, whereas, the Arab world invests only 19.3%. Many countries from the Persian Gulf and Maghreb regions are also getting more involved in large-scale development projects in Morocco.
Western Sahara, formerly the Spanish colony of Spanish Sahara, is a disputed territory claimed by both the Kingdom of Morocco and the Popular Front for the Liberation of the Saguia el Hamra and Rio de Oro, which is an independence movement based in Algeria. The Annexation of Western Sahara by Morocco took place in two stages, in 1976 and 1979, and is considered illegal under international law.

He was Gabon's Ambassador to Morocco from 1989 to 1993, Ambassador to the United States and Mexico from 1993 to 2001, and Ambassador to Germany from 2001 to 2006. He was Minister-Delegate under the Deputy Prime Minister for the Environment from January 2009 to October 2009, Minister-Delegate under the Minister of the Economy, Trade, Industry, and Tourism from October 2009 to January 2011, and he was appointed as Minister-Delegate under the Minister of Foreign Affairs in January 2011. In June 2013, he was appointed as Chairman of the Gabonese Housing Bank.

He also held the position as the Delegate-Minister for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation in the cabinet of Abdelilah Benkirane. Before this nomination he worked since 1978 as a civil servant at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Rabat. He also served as Consul and Ambassador of Morocco to multiple Spanish-speaking countries and was Secretary General of the Union for the Mediterranean until February 2012.

He is the longest serving Moroccan Ambassador, and the only one to have been appointed to six different mandates.
Luis María Kreckler is an Argentine diplomat who served as ambassador of his country to the Federative Republic of Brazil between 2012 and 2015. A career diplomat, he previously served as Secretary of Trade and International Economic Relations (2010-2011) and Undersecretary for International Trade (2005-2010) at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Worship of Argentina. In 2016 he was appointed ambassador to Germany.

He worked as Director-General for Economic Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan from 2012 to 2016 overseeing regional economic cooperation and multilateral development partnerships, chaired economic diplomacy committee, coordinated Regional Economic Cooperation Conference for Afghanistan process and projects and served as a Focal Point for economic Confidence Building Measures (CBMs) of the Heart of Asia Istanbul Process.
Majdi Khaldi is a Palestinian diplomat and ambassador. He is currently the Senior Diplomatic Advisor to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, holding the rank of Minister. Khaldi has previously served in the Palestinian National Authority from 1994 through 2006 in multiple roles, including Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Acting Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation and Director General of the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation. Khaldi was also a member of the Palestinian negotiations support team for the implementation of the Oslo Accords with Israel. He is a current member of the Palestinian National Council.
