Figure skating was first contested in the Olympic Games at the 1908 Summer Olympics. Since 1924, the sport has been a part of the Winter Olympic Games.
Sinead Houston Kerr is a Scottish former competitive ice dancer who represented Great Britain. She teamed up with her brother John Kerr in 2000. They are two-time European bronze medalists and the 2004–2010 British national champions. They placed 10th at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, Italy, and 8th at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
Kamila Vokoun Hájková is a Czech former competitive ice dancer. With David Vincour, she is a two-time Ondrej Nepela Memorial bronze medalist, the 2005 Golden Spin of Zagreb bronze medalist, a two-time Pavel Roman Memorial champion, and a five-time Czech national champion. The two competed in the final segment at seven ISU Championships and at the 2010 Winter Olympics.
Julia Lautowa is an Austrian former competitive figure skater in ladies' singles. She is the 1996 Cup of Russia silver medalist, a two-time Karl Schäfer Memorial champion, and a six-time Austrian national champion. She placed in the top ten at five ISU Championships.

All five competitive disciplines currently recognized by the International Skating Union (ISU) are covered: 1) Men's single skating, 2) Ladies' single skating, 3) Pair skating, 4) Ice dance, and 5) Synchronized skating. The four disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating and ice dance also appeared as part of a team event at the Winter Olympic Games.

The 2022 Russian Figure Skating Championships was held from 21 to 26 December 2021 in Saint Petersburg. Medals were awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, women's singles, pairs, and ice dance. The results will be part of the criteria to select Russia's teams to the 2022 European Championships, 2022 Winter Olympics, and 2022 World Championships.
