It had its world premiere at the 16th Jogja-NETPAC Asian Film Festival. It received two nominations at the 2022 Indonesian Film Festival, won one for Best Supporting Actor (Djarot).

Premise

Raja and Asia share the same responsibility of caring for their respective single parents. As Raja convinces Asia that their parents are a good match for each other, Raja and Asia slowly fall in love. [1]

Production

Noer revealed that the screenplay had been finished written in 2019. [2] Principal photography took place in Jakarta and Puncak, Bogor, West Java, from July to August 2020. [3] The project had been announced in July 2020 along with the cast announcement. [4]

Release

First, Second & Third Love had its world premiere as the closing film of 16th Jogja-NETPAC Asian Film Festival on 4 December 2021. [5] It was theatrically released in Indonesia on 6 January 2022. [6] It garnered 108,579 admissions during its theatrical run. [7]

Netflix acquired its distribution rights, releasing it on 17 March 2022. [8]

The 16th Jogja-NETPAC Asian Film Festival was held on 27 November to 4 December 2021 in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The festival returned to be held offline at the Empire XXI, after a year absence due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia. The festival partnered with streaming service KlikFilm for online screenings.

The 12th Jogja-NETPAC Asian Film Festival was held from 1 to 8 December 2017 in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. A total of 114 films from 24 countries were screened during the festival. Garin Nugroho's Nyai opened the festival and it closed with Kirsten Tan's drama film Pop Aye. The year's edition included a new competition section called Indonesian Screen Awards which honored the achievement of Indonesian feature films.

The Indonesian Screen Awards is a competitive section held during the Jogja-NETPAC Asian Film Festival. The section honors achievements in Indonesian cinema across six categories, Best Film, Best Directing, Best Performance, Best Editing, and Best Storytelling. Short films were also part of the competition during the inaugural edition in 2017.
