The Citra Award for Best Original Screenplay (Indonesian : Piala Citra untuk Penulis Skenario Asli Terbaik) is an award presented annually at the Indonesian Film Festival since 2006. Together with the Citra Award for Best Adapted Screenplay, it replaced the integrated Citra Award for Best Screenplay.

Contents

In 2019, Gina S. Noer became the first person to win both Best Original Screenplay and Best Adapted Screenplay in the same year for her work on Cemara's Family and Two Blue Stripes . [1]

Gina S. Noer is an Indonesian screenwriter, film director, producer, and author. She co-founded production company Wahana Kreator Nusantara.

Jerome Kurnia is an Indonesian actor and model. He rose to prominence for his acting roles in Dilan 1991 and This Earth of Mankind, both in 2019. His performance in the latter garnered him a nomination for Best Supporting Actor at the 2019 Indonesian Film Festival. At the 2021 ceremony, he won the same award for his performance in Photocopier.

The Citra Award for Best Adapted Screenplay is an award presented annually at the Indonesian Film Festival since 2006. Together with the Citra Award for Best Original Screenplay, it replaced the integrated Citra Award for Best Screenplay.

The Citra Award for Best Cinematography is an award presented annually at the Indonesian Film Festival since its inaugural edition in 1955, to honor the achievement in cinematography. Starting in 1979, the award began to introduce nominees.

The 44th Indonesian Film Festival ceremony, presented by Indonesian Film Board and Ministry of Education, honored the achievement in Indonesian cinema released from 1 September 2023 to 31 August 2024. The ceremony was held on 20 November 2024 at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition, BSD City, Banten.

The 14th Jogja-NETPAC Asian Film Festival was held on 19 to 23 November 2019 in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. A total of 107 films from 23 countries were screened during the festival. Black comedy fantasy film Abracadabra opened the festival and it closed with Bradley Liew's Hotel Acacia.
