The 37th Citra Awards ceremony took place on 11 November 2017 at the Grand Kawanua International Convention Hall in Manado, North Sulawesi, Indonesia. [1] It was hosted by comedian Denny Chandra and Puteri Indonesia 2016 titleholder Kezia Warouw. The ceremony honored the achievement in Indonesian cinema of 2017. This year, there was one new category that was awarded for the first time, Best Makeup. [2] The ceremony was broadcast on Global TV, iNews and TVRI.

Action thriller film Night Bus won six awards out of eleven nominations, including Best Picture. Biographical drama based on the life of Indonesian activist R.A. Kartini, Kartini garnered the most nominations with fourteen nominations and won an award, Best Supporting Actress for Christine Hakim. Horror film Satan's Slaves won the most awards with seven.

During the opening ceremony on 21 August 2017, the organizing committee announced Manado, North Sulawesi, as the host city for the 2017 award, with the awards ceremony set to take place on 11 November. The selection, according to Leni Lolang, the chairperson of the organizing committee, was part of the festival's effort to accommodate regional requests. [3]

This marked the fourth ceremony took place outside of Jakarta, following previous ceremonies in Semarang in 2013, Palembang in 2014, and South Tangerang in 2015.

The nominations were announced on 5 October 2017 at the Raffles Hotel, Jakarta. [4] Kartini and Satan's Slaves received the most nominations with fourteen and thirteen, respectively. [5]

Satan's Slaves is a 2017 Indonesian horror film written and directed by Joko Anwar. It is a loose remake-prequel to the 1980 film of the same name directed by Sisworo Gautama Putra based on a story by Subagio S. The plot follows a family who are haunted by the death of their mother, who dies after being bedridden for three years from a strange and debilitating illness.

The 38th Citra Awards honored the achievement in Indonesian cinema released from 1 October 2017 to 30 September 2018. The ceremony was held on 9 December 2018 at the Teater Besar Ismail Marzuki Park, Jakarta, Indonesia, and presented by journalist Rory Asyari and actress Maudy Koesnaedi.

<i>Surat Kecil untuk Tuhan</i> (2017 film) 2017 Indonesian film

Surat Kecil untuk Tuhan is a 2017 Indonesian adventure drama film produced by Falcon Pictures. Based on the novel of the same name by Agnes Davonar, it was directed by Fajar Bustomi and produced by Frederica, written by Upi and Bustomi, with Andreas Sullivan co-directing. The film stars the ensemble cast including Bunga Citra Lestari, Joe Taslim, Lukman Sardi, Bima Azriel, Izzati Khansa, Rifnu Wikana, Ben Joshua, Maudy Koesnadi, Jeroen Lezer, Chew Kin Wah, Susan Bachtiar and Dorman Borisman. Set in the early 2000s, the story follows Anton (Azriel) and Angel (Khansa), the orphan siblings who were stuck in a syndication in which uses homeless children.

The 43rd Indonesian Film Festival ceremony, presented by Indonesian Film Board and Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, honouring the achievement in Indonesian cinema released from 1 September 2022 to 31 August 2023, was held on 14 November 2023 at the Ciputra Artpreneur, Jakarta, Indonesia.

The 36th Indonesian Film Festival ceremony took place on 6 November 2016 at the Teater Jakarta in Jakarta, Indonesia, to honor the achievement in Indonesian cinema of 2016. It was hosted by comedians Pandji Pragiwaksono and Ernest Prakasa and broadcast on RCTI. Beginning with this ceremony, Best Theme Song, was introduced to honour achievement in music.
