The 2006 Florida Commissioner of Agriculture election took place on November 7, 2006, to elect the Florida Commissioner of Agriculture. Charles H. Bronson won a second term.
The Commissioner of Agriculture and Consumer Services is the head of the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS). The position is elected by voters statewide and is one of four members in the Florida Cabinet. The eleventh and current commissioner is Democrat Nikki Fried, who took office on January 8, 2019.
Charles Howard Bronson is the former Commissioner of Agriculture and Consumer Services for the U.S. State of Florida. He was appointed to the position in 2001 by Governor Jeb Bush, then reelected to the position in 2002 and 2006.

Charlotte County is a county located in the U.S. state of Florida. As of the 2010 census, the population was 159,978. Its county seat is Punta Gorda.

He served in Congress for five terms, representing the Central Florida-based 12th Congressional district. He was the House Republican Conference Chair from 2007 to 2009.
Scott Charles Maddox is an American politician. He was the mayor of Tallahassee, Florida, from 1995 to 1996 and from 1997 to 2003. Maddox is the former chair of the Florida Democratic Party and a former Tallahassee City Commissioner, serving from 1993 to 1995, 1996 to 1997 and from 2012 to 2018.
C. Thomas "Tom" Gallagher III is an American politician, financier, and insurance agent from the state of Florida and a member of the Republican Party. Gallagher holds the distinction of having served more years as an elected state official than any other individual in Florida history. He began his career in the Florida House of Representatives, where he served from 1979 to 1987. He was then the Treasurer, Insurance Commissioner and Fire Marshal of Florida from 1989 to 1995, the Education Commissioner of Florida from 1999 to 2001 and the Treasurer, Insurance Commissioner and Fire Marshal of Florida again from 2001 to 2003. After 2003, his office was merged with that of Comptroller to form the Chief Financial Officer of Florida, which he held from 2003 to 2007. Gallagher has also run unsuccessfully for the United States Senate in 2000 and four times for Governor of Florida: in 1982, 1986, 1994 and 2006.

The Chief Financial Officer of Florida is an elected statewide constitutional officer of Florida. The office was created in 2002 following the 1998 reforms of the Florida Cabinet. The CFO is a combination of the former offices of Comptroller and Treasurer/Insurance Commissioner/Fire Marshal. The office heads the Florida Department of Financial Services and is responsible for overseeing the state's finances, collecting revenue, paying state bills, auditing state agencies, regulating cemeteries and funerals, and handling fires and arsons. In addition, the CFO has administrative oversight over the offices which handles banking and insurance regulation. The CFO is a member of the Cabinet.

David L. "Dave" Pearce, was a Democrat who served as the Louisiana Commissioner of Agriculture and Forestry from 1952 to 1956 and again from 1960 to 1976. Allied with anti-Long elements in the state, Pearce was unseated in the Democratic primary after a single term in 1956 by the Longite entomologist Sidney McCrory of Ascension Parish. However, Pearce unseated McCrory to regain the post in 1960 and then lost it again in Louisiana's first-ever nonpartisan blanket primary in 1975 to a fellow Democrat, Gil Dozier. He also failed in a 1979 campaign to reclaim the office.

John Murphy McMillan Jr. is a prominent Alabama leader in forestry, agriculture, and natural resource and wildlife conservation who is the 40th Treasurer of Alabama. He was elected as a Republican in November 2010 to the office of Alabama Commissioner of Agriculture and Industries. He was elected to a second four-year term in 2014. In 2018, McMillan won the Republican primary election for State Treasurer, and had no Democratic opposition on the general election ballot.

Fried became the only statewide elected Democrat in Florida, as US Senator Bill Nelson simultaneously lost reelection.

Primary elections were on August 28, 2018. The Republicans swept the U.S. Senate seat held by incumbent Democrat Bill Nelson while the Democrats picked up two House seats as well as the office of the Commissioner of Agriculture.
James Richard Baird is an American businessman and politician who serves as a Republican member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Indiana's 4th congressional district. Before being elected to Congress, Baird served from 2010 to 2018 as a member of the Indiana House of Representatives. He previously served as Commissioner for Putnam County, Indiana from 2006 to 2010. Baird was elected to Congress on November 6, 2018.
Nicole Heather Fried is an American lawyer from Fort Lauderdale, Florida and the 12th Florida Commissioner of Agriculture and Consumer Services. She is the first elected woman to hold the position and first Democrat to hold that office since 2001.
