Fred Kpakol

Fred Barivure Kpakol is an accountant and politician. He served as Rivers State Finance Commissioner between 2015 and 2019.He also served as the Commissioner for Agriculture between 2019 and 2022. He is a native of B-Dere in Gokana. He studied accounting and finance at the Rivers State University of Science and Technology and graduated with a B.Sc. in Accounting and Finance. He went further to do his master's degree in Banking and Finance at Federal University of Technology Owerri and he later had his Ph.D. degree in Banking,Finance and Taxation from Rivers State University of Science and Technology. [1] Kpakol is affiliated with the People's Democratic Party and has served as Chairman of Gokana local government area. [2] He is also a former Secretary of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria Rivers State Branch. [3]

The 2023 Rivers State gubernatorial election will take place on 18 March 2023, to elect the Governor of Rivers State, concurrent with elections to the Rivers State House of Assembly as well as twenty-seven other gubernatorial elections and elections to all other state houses of assembly. The election—which was postponed from its original 11 March date—will be held three weeks after the presidential election and National Assembly elections. Incumbent PDP Governor Ezenwo Nyesom Wike is term-limited and cannot seek re-election to a third term.

Asuquo Ekpenyong is a Nigerian politician and financial analyst. He is the former Cross River State Commissioner for Finance, he emerged winner of the Cross River south senatorial district elections in the 2023 Nigerian senate elections.
