Kakhi Kakhiashvili is a Georgian-Greek weightlifter, one of only six weightlifters to have won three consecutive gold medals at Olympic Games. He won his first at Barcelona 1992, competing with the Unified Team, and later as a citizen of Greece at Atlanta 1996 and in Sydney 2000. He won three Senior World Championships, was twice a silver medalist at the Senior World Championships, and set seven world records during his career. He was named the 1996 and 1999 Greek Male Athlete of the Year.
Yuri Norayrovich Vardanyan was a Soviet Armenian weightlifter. Vardanyan won a gold medal at the 1980 Summer Olympics, becoming the world's first weightlifter to achieve a 400 kilogram total in the 82.5 kg weight category. During his career he set several world records. He trained at Lokomotiv in Leninakan, Armenia. He earned the title Honoured Master of Sports of the USSR in 1977 and was awarded the Order of Lenin in 1985. In 1994 he was elected a member of the International Weightlifting Federation Hall of Fame.
Mel Daluzyan, is a transgender Armenian weightlifter. He received the Honoured Master of Sports of Armenia title in 2006.

Lydia Valentín Pérez is a Spanish retired weightlifter, Olympic Champion, 2 time World Champion and 4 time European Champion competing in the 75 kg category until 2018 and 81 kg starting in 2018 after the International Weightlifting Federation reorganized the categories. Lydia has won three Olympic Medals, two World Weightlifting Championships, as well as four European Weightlifting Championships.
Egypt competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, from 27 July to 12 August 2012, sending one of its largest delegations ever. A total of 110 Egyptian athletes participated in 83 events across 20 sports, with more women taking part than ever before. Vardan Militosyan won a silver at the 1976 Olympics, and later Yurik Vardanyan became an Olympic, World and European champion through the late 1970s and the early 1980s. Oksen Mirzoyan and Yurik Sarkisyan rose to top positions in the 1980s. After its independence from the Soviet Union, Armenia successfully held its weightlifting traditions and continues to be one of the strongest nations in Europe. In 2008, the Armenia team placed first at the European Championship. In the 2008 Summer Olympics Armenia won three bronze medals. Tigran Gevorg Martirosyan is Armenia's only world champion with his successful appearance in 2010.
Chen Lijun is a Chinese weightlifter, Olympic Champion, five time World Champion and two time Asian Champion competing in the 62 kg division until 2018 and 67 kg starting in 2018 after the International Weightlifting Federation reorganized the categories.
Kim Myong-nam is a North Korean male weightlifter, competing in the 70 kg category and representing North Korea at international competitions. He won the bronze medal at the 1992 Summer Olympics in the 75 kg event and the silver medal at the 1996 Summer Olympics in the 70 kg event. He competed at world championships, most recently at the 1997 World Weightlifting Championships.
Fares Ibrahim Saed Hassouna El-Bakh, commonly known as Meso Hassouna, is a Qatari weightlifter of Egyptian origin. He is an Olympic Champion, World Champion and two time Junior World Champion competing in the 85 kg, and 94 kg categories until 2018 and 96 kg and 102 kg starting in 2018 after the International Weightlifting Federation reorganized the categories.
Said Khalifa Gouda was an Egyptian male weightlifter who competed in the featherweight and Lightweight class and represented Egypt at international competitions. He won the gold medal at the 1951 World Weightlifting Championships in the 60 kg category. He also competed in the men's featherweight event at the 1952 Summer Olympics.
Anton Richter is an Austrian male former weightlifter, who competed in the featherweight class and represented Austria at international competitions. He won the silver medal at the 1937 World Weightlifting Championships in the 60 kg category. He participated at the 1936 Summer Olympics in the 60 kg event. He set one world record in the featherweight clean & jerk and one in the featherweight total.
Hans Valla was an Austrian weightlifter, who competed in the middleweight class and represented Austria at international competitions. He won the bronze medal at the 1937 World Weightlifting Championships in the 75 kg category. He also competed at the 1936 Summer Olympics.
Igor Sadykov is a Soviet and German male former weightlifter, who competed in the first heavyweight class. He represented the Soviet Union until 1992 and Germany from 1993 at international competitions. He won the gold medal at the 1991 World Weightlifting Championships after winning silver at the 1990 World Weightlifting Championships. For Germany he won the bronze medal at the 1993 World Weightlifting Championships He participated at the 1996 Summer Olympics in the 99 kg event. He won the gold medal at the 1991 European Championships in the Sub-Heavyweight.
