Fur Jan (Persian : فورجان‎, also Romanized as Fūr Jān; also known as Qūrjān, Fūrg, and Fūrgu)^[1] is a village in Shakhen Rural District, in the Central District of Birjand County, South Khorasan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 551, in 131 families.^[2]

Persian, also known by its endonym Farsi, is one of the Western Iranian languages within the Indo-Iranian branch of the Indo-European language family. It is primarily spoken in Iran, Afghanistan, and Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and some other regions which historically were Persianate societies and considered part of Greater Iran. It is written right to left in the Persian alphabet, a modified variant of the Arabic script.

Shakhen Rural District is a rural district (dehestan) in the Central District of Birjand County, South Khorasan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 6,276, in 1,609 families. The rural district has 13 villages.
