Khong-e Bala (Persian : خنگ بالا‎, also Romanized as Khong-e Bālā and Khūng-e Bālā; also known as Khong, Khung, Khūnīk, and Khurg)^[1] is a village in Baqeran Rural District, in the Central District of Birjand County, South Khorasan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 126, in 52 families.^[2]

Persian, also known by its endonym Farsi, is one of the Western Iranian languages within the Indo-Iranian branch of the Indo-European language family. It is a pluricentric language primarily spoken in Iran, Afghanistan, and Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and some other regions which historically were Persianate societies and considered part of Greater Iran. It is written right to left in the Persian alphabet, a modified variant of the Arabic script.

Baqeran Rural District is a rural district (dehestan) in the Central District of Birjand County, South Khorasan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 14,651, in 4,378 families. The rural district has 129 villages.
