Future of the Past is a compilation album by the Polish death metal band Vader. It was released in 1996 by System Shock/Impact Records in Europe, and in Poland by Koch International. The CD consists entirely of covers by various bands.

Contents

Future of the Past was recorded between March and September 1996 at Selani Studio in Olsztyn in Poland produced by Vader. The album was mastered by Grzegorz Piwkowski at Modern Sound Studio in Gdynia in Poland. Piotr "Peter" Wiwczarek commented on Chronicles of Chaos magazine about recording album:

It is like a tribute album to the years and the bands who inspired us in the beginning. Apart from the Possessed, Kreator, Terrorizer, and Celtic Frost songs, we also put all the cover songs we'd done, so you can see the Sabbath and the Depeche Mode covers. [This was] because those songs only appear on promo versions, singles or whatever, and we wanted to put everything we'd made, or all the covers, onto one CD and forget about the covers for a couple of years. [1]

<i>The Ultimate Incantation</i> 1992 studio album by Vader

The Ultimate Incantation is the debut album by Polish death metal band Vader. It was released in 1992 by Earache Records. A music video was shot for the song "Dark Age", which was directed by Kimmo Kuusniemi and Tanja Katinka. The cover art was drawn by Dan Seagrave. The album was originally recorded at Sunlight Studio with Thomas Skogsberg, but neither the record label or Vader was pleased with the outcome and decided to use another studio because of technical issues. The new studio that they recorded at was Rhythm Studios in England with producer Paul Johnson. Piotr "Peter" Wiwczarek commented on Decibel magazine about recording album at Sunlight Studios, saying:

[...]It was rather an opportunity to record our debut album at the famous Sunlight. We knew many fabulous LPs [had been] recorded in this studio, so the whole of Vader was more than happy. [...] There was no real acoustic drum kit in the studio. Not one of us was expecting or had worked before on such equipment. We had nothing to say, but had to keep recording on what we had available. We owned no professional equipment yet. [...] We had to use rented stuff and what was provided to play in the studio. My guitar was maybe good enough for live performances, but far from being studio-ready. Doc brought some cymbals and pedals and that was it. [...] All we had in-studio were electronic drum pads and a combo amp for guitar. Vader was all about blastbeats… and that electronic drum kit was not made for that.

De Profundis is the second album by the Polish death metal band Vader. The album was originally released in Poland by Croon Records and in the US by Pavement Music, but with no lyrics and a normal inner CD layout. It was re-released with a bonus track by Metal Mind Productions in 2003 with a cover of the Depeche Mode song "I Feel You". It was also re-released for Japan in 1997 by Avalon Records/Marquee Records with two bonus tracks.

XXV is the 25th-anniversary studio album by Polish death metal band Vader, released in 2008 by Regain Records. The album is a collection of re-recorded songs from earlier Vader albums, from The Ultimate Incantation up to The Beast. The special edition includes three bonus tracks and a bonus third DVD, with an old and rare live VHS containing footage from throughout the band's career. XXV was recorded between July 2007 and March 2008 at Hertz Studio in Białystok, Poland and produced by Wojtek and Sławek Wiesławscy. Go to Hell is a 7-inch EP by Polish death metal band Vader, containing two tracks from Tibi et Igni. The song "Where Angels Weep" was also released digitally. Both were released on April 18, 2014, through Nuclear Blast. There is a slight difference in mixing between Go to Hell and Tibi et Igni: the second guitar solo in "Where Angels Weep" was performed by Marek "Spider" Pająk, while on the album all guitars were performed by Piotr "Peter" Wiwczarek.
