G3:Rockin' in the Free World is a double live album by the G3 project that was recorded at The Uptown Theater in Kansas City,Missouri,United States,on October 21,2003. The album featured the touring lineup of the project leader Joe Satriani,frequent member Steve Vai and guest guitarist Yngwie Malmsteen. A DVD of the same tour,but with a different track list,was released as G3:Live in Denver .

Yngwie Johan Malmsteen;born 30 June 1963) is a Swedish guitarist. He first became known in the 1980s for his neoclassical playing style in heavy metal,and has released 22 studio albums in a career spanning over 40 years. In August 2009,Time magazine named Malmsteen No. 9 on its list of the 10 best electric guitar players of all time.
Joseph Satriani is an American rock guitarist,composer,and songwriter. Early in his career he worked as a guitar instructor,with many of his former students achieving fame,including Steve Vai,Larry LaLonde,Rick Hunolt,Kirk Hammett,Andy Timmons,Charlie Hunter,Kevin Cadogan,and Alex Skolnick. Satriani went on to have a successful solo music career,starting in the mid-1980s. He is a 15-time Grammy Award nominee and has sold over ten million albums,making him the bestselling instrumental rock guitarist of all time.

Trial by Fire:Live in Leningrad is the first live album by guitarist Yngwie Malmsteen,recorded over several dates in February 1989 in Leningrad,Soviet Union,and released on 12 October 1989 through Polydor Records. The album reached #31 on the Swedish albums chart and #128 on the Billboard 200. A VHS video of the concert was released on 11 July 1991 through PolyGram,and a DVD edition was reissued in Japan on 12 December 2006 through Universal Music.
Rising Force is the first studio album by guitarist Yngwie Malmsteen,released in late 1984 through Polydor Records. This was originally planned as an instrumental side-project of his then-current band Alcatrazz,but due to singer Jeff Scott Soto's appearance on the album,Malmsteen opted to release it as a solo album. It reached No. 14 on the Swedish albums chart and No. 60 on the US Billboard 200,and received a nomination for Best Rock Instrumental Performance at the 1986 Grammy Awards. The album is regarded as a landmark release in the shred and neoclassical metal genres.
Steven Siro Vai is an American guitarist,songwriter,and producer. A three-time Grammy Award winner and fifteen-time nominee,Vai started his music career in 1978 at the age of eighteen as a transcriptionist for Frank Zappa,and played in Zappa's band from 1980 to 1983. He embarked on a solo career in 1983 and has released eight solo albums to date. Despite the name on the DVD case,when played the title that appears on screen is "G3:Live from Denver" rather than "G3:Live in Denver".
"My Guitar Wants to Kill Your Mama" is a song written by Frank Zappa and originally recorded by The Mothers of Invention in February 1969 at Criteria Studios (Miami),with overdubs recorded sometime between August and September 1969 at TTG Studios and Whitney Studios. This version was included on their 1970 album Weasels Ripped My Flesh, an LP that included various recordings by the band from 1967 to 1969. A second version was released as a single on the Bizarre and Reprise labels as "My Guitar." Despite the more conventional naming,"My Guitar" did not chart.
Perpetual Flame is the sixteenth studio album by guitarist Yngwie Malmsteen and his group Rising Force,released on 13 October 2008 in Europe and on 14 October 2008 in the US and Canada. It was his first album since 2005's Unleash the Fury and the first with ex-Judas Priest and Iced Earth singer Tim "Ripper" Owens. The album also features famed keyboardist Derek Sherinian on keyboards.
