The Hepialidae are a family of insects in the lepidopteran order. Moths of this family are often referred to as swift moths or ghost moths.

It is found from northern India and southern China to Queensland, the Bismarck Archipelago and the Solomon Islands, as well in Japan. The habitat consists of lowland areas up to 2,600 meters, but it is most frequent at elevations ranging from 1,000 to 2,000 meters.
