Mennen Torres Polintan (born July 8, 1969), popularly known as Gardo Verzosa, is a Filipino actor and comedian.[ citation needed ]

Career

According to George Vail Kabristante, a writer for The Manila Times , Mennen Polintan's film career began in 1988 when his mentor Carlo Finioni brought him in to star in the drama film Hamunin ang Bukas . [1]

He began his career with roles in films such as Sabik sa Halik, Machete 2, Halimuyak ng Babae and Kirot. Where he was known by the screen name "Niño Espedilla". Later, he transitioned to starring in action movies like Cesar Climaco, Mison, and Ka Hector. He also appeared in critically acclaimed films, including the 1998 Marilou Diaz-Abaya adaptation of Rizal where he portrayed national hero Andres Bonifacio and Sisa, in which he played his role as Jose Rizal / Pepe. Additionally, he starred in Pinoy Blonde and some of the highest rated shows in Philippine, such as Mula sa Puso as Domingo, It Might Be You as Camilo San Carlos and Sugo as Apo Abukay.

Versoza has made guest appearances on various shows on ABS-CBN and the GMA Network. He also appeared in Bubble Gang , Maalaala Mo Kaya , Hokus Pokus, and Magpakailanman .

In early 2016, he began using the moniker "Cupcake", [2] which was given by his best friend, Ai-Ai delas Alas.

In 2019, Versoza portrayed policeman Ulysses Balthazar on Sandugo and the villainous drug-dealer Lazaro Enriquez on FPJ's Ang Probinsyano . Both shows were aired on ABS-CBN. [3] [4]

He is married to Ivy Vicencio. [5] They have a son named Deity Uziel. [6] [7]
