Tioman Island is 32 kilometres off the east coast of Rompin District, Pahang, Malaysia. It is 39 kilometres long and 12 kilometres wide and has seven villages, the largest and most populous being Kampung Tekek on the central western coast. Nepenthes infauna Organisms that inhabit the pitchers of Nepenthes plants

Nepenthesinfauna are the organisms that inhabit the pitchers of Nepenthes plants. These include fly and midge larvae, spiders, mites, ants, and even a species of crab, Geosesarma malayanum. The most common and conspicuous predators found in pitchers are mosquito larvae, which consume large numbers of other larvae during their development. Many of these animals are so specialised that they cannot survive anywhere else, and are referred to as nepenthebionts.

Geosesarma malayanum is a species of small red crab found in Malaysia. It is famous for its relationship with pitcher plants; as such, it is classified as a nepenthephile. G. malayanum is known to visit Nepenthes ampullaria plants and raid the pitchers of their contents. It uses its claws to crush and consume the drowned prey. However, the crabs are reportedly trapped by pitchers in Brunei occasionally.

Tioman Airport, also known as Pulau Tioman Airport, is an airport serving Tioman Island, Pahang, Malaysia. It is located next to Tekek village . The relatively small size of aircraft able to take off and land at Tioman means that per seat costs are relatively high making it hard for airlines operating out of the island to remain profitable. The airport's runway is "one way" as planes can only land from and take off in one direction (north) due to nearby terrain. Tioman is a popular destination for private pilots based in Singapore and Malaysia, as it is only a little more than one hour away by air from Seletar Airport, Singapore compared to over 5 hours by surface transport.
