The 1992 Summer Paralympics were the ninth Paralympic Games to be held. They were held in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. In addition, the 1992 Paralympic Games for Persons with mental handicap were held immediately after the regular Paralympics in the Spanish capital, Madrid.
The 2004 Summer Paralympics, the 12th Summer Paralympic Games, were a major international multi-sport event for athletes with disabilities governed by the International Paralympic Committee, held in Athens, Greece from 17 to 28 September 2004. 3,806 athletes from 136 National Paralympic Committees competed. 519 medal events were held in 19 sports.
Ghana first participated at the Olympic Games in 1952, when it was known by the colonial name of Gold Coast. The nation has sent athletes to compete in most Summer Olympic Games since then, missing the 1956 Games, boycotting the 1976 Games in protest of the participation of New Zealand, and joining the American-led boycott of the 1980 Summer Olympics. Ghana participated in the Winter Olympic Games for the first time in Vancouver in 2010.
Cornelia Connelly School of the Holy Child Jesus (Connelly), was a Catholic college-preparatory high school for girls in Anaheim, California, the only such independent school in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Orange. It operated from 1961 to 2020.
Rwanda sent a delegation to compete at the 2008 Summer Paralympics in Beijing. The country was represented by a single athlete. Jean de Dieu Nkundabera, who won a bronze medal in the 2004 Summer Paralympics in Athens, competed in the 800 metre wheelchair sprint.

Mongolia first competed at the Summer Paralympic Games in 2000, and has competed in every edition of the Summer Paralympics since then. The country first participated at the Winter Paralympic Games in 2006.
Palestine participated in the 2008 Summer Paralympics in Beijing, but did not win any medals.
Sudan made its Summer Paralympic Games début at the 1980 Summer Paralympics in Arnhem, sending a delegation of eleven athletes to compete in track and field, swimming and table tennis. The country did not participate again until the 2004 Summer Paralympics in Athens, where it was represented by just two competitors in track and field. Sudan was absent again at the 2008 Games.
Ghana made its Paralympic Games début at the 2004 Summer Paralympics in Athens, sending three representatives to compete in two sports. Nkegbe Botsyo, in athletics, took part in the men's 100m, 200m and 400m, in the T54 category. Ajara Mohammed entered the women's 800m and the marathon, also in the T54 category. Alfred Adjetey Sowah competed in powerlifting, in the men's up to 52 kg.

Anita Fordjour is a Ghanaian athlete, who has competed in wheelchair racing. She came third in the 1500 metres T54 event at the 2010 Commonwealth Games, and has won multiple medals at the All-Africa Games.
Emmanuel Nii Tettey Oku is a Ghanaian Paralympic athlete and para powerlifter. He represented Ghana and competed in the men's 72 kg event at the 2020 Summer Paralympics in Tokyo.
