South Korea competed at the 2008 Summer Paralympics in Beijing, China. The country's delegation consisted of 79 competitors and 54 officials.
Among the competitors were world record holders Park Jong-chul in powerlifting, Min Byeong-eon in swimming and Hong Suk-man in athletics. The team's athletics (track and field) director was Yu Hee-sang. Other members of the team included wheelchair racers Hong Duk-ho and Yoo Byung-hoon. The group left for Beijing on September 1, five days before the start of the games. [1]

South Korea competed as Korea at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain. 226 competitors, 154 men and 72 women, took part in 134 events in 24 sports.
South Korea competed as Korea at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia. Athletes from North and South Korea marched together in the opening ceremony under the Korean Unification Flag. 281 competitors, 175 men and 106 women, took part in 144 events in 26 sports.
The 2007 Men's Hockey Champions Trophy was the 29th men's field hockey tournament for the Hockey Champions Trophy. It was held from November 29 to December 9, 2007, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, having moved away from Lahore, Pakistan.
Jung is a Latin alphabet rendition of the Korean family name "정", also often spelled Jeong, Chung, Joung or Jong. As of the South Korean census of 2015, there were 2,407,601 people by this name in South Korea or 4.84% of the population. The Korean family name "정" is mainly derived from three homophonous hanja. 鄭 (2,151,879), 丁 (243,803) and 程 (11,683). The rest of the homophonous hanjas include: 政 (139), 桯 (41), 定 (29), 正 (22) and 情 (5).
South Korea competed at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China. This is a list of all of the South Korean athletes who qualified for the Olympics and their results. South Korea sent a delegation of 267 athletes to these games.
The South Korea men's national volleyball team represents South Korea in international volleyball competitions and friendly matches, governed by Korea Volleyball Association. The Republic of Korea (ROK) has competed in the Olympic Games eight times, but has not featured since the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia. The national team's best performance at the Olympic Games was 5th place at the 1984 Games in Los Angeles, California, United States. The national team at the FIVB World Championship competed nine times, with their best result at 4th place in 1978. On continental level, The national team won three gold medals at the Asian Games in 1978, 2002 and 2006. And at the Asian Championship, the national team won four gold medals, two of these was at home in 1989 Seoul and 2001 Changwon and the other two are in 1993 and 2003. The national team now ranks 30th in the FIVB World Rankings and their current head coach is Im Do-heon.
The 2008 Men's Hockey Champions Trophy was the 30th edition of the Hockey Champions Trophy men's field hockey tournament. It was held in from June 21 to June 29, 2008 in Rotterdam, Netherlands.
China was the host of the 2008 Summer Paralympics, held in Beijing. China's delegation included 547 people, of whom 332 were competitors. The athletes, 197 men and 135 women, ranged in age from 15 to 51 and competed in all twenty sports. 226 of the competitors participated in the Paralympic Games for the first time.
