<span class="mw-page-title-main">Makerere University</span> Ugandan public university

Makerere University, Kampala is Uganda's largest and oldest institution of higher learning, first established as a technical school in 1922. It became an independent national university in 1970. Today, Makerere University is composed of nine colleges and one school offering programmes for about 36,000 undergraduates and 4,000 postgraduates. The main administrative block was gutted by fire in September 2020 and the cause of the fire is yet to be established.

Dr. Speciosa Kazibwe is also a Ugandan surgeon. She is also referred to as "Nnalongo", because of her twins. In August 2013, she was appointed by the United Nations's Secretary General, Ban Ki-Moon as United Nations Special Envoy for HIV/AIDS in Africa.

Samson Babi Mululu Kisekka was a Ugandan politician who was Prime Minister of Uganda from 1986 to 1991 and the fifth Vice President of Uganda from 1991 to 1994. He also worked as a medical doctor and diplomat. He was closely associated with Yoweri Museveni.

Ruhakana Rugunda is a Ugandan physician and politician who was Prime Minister of Uganda from 2014 to 2021. He held a long series of cabinet posts under President Yoweri Museveni beginning in 1986. He served as Uganda's Minister of Foreign Affairs from 1994 to 1996, and Minister of Internal Affairs from 2003 to 2009. Subsequently, he was Permanent Representative to the United Nations from 2009 to 2011 and Minister of Health from 2013 to 2014.

Alex Aadroa Onzima is a Ugandan politician. He was the State Minister in the Office of the Vice President in the Ugandan cabinet. He was appointed to that position on 6 June 2016. Prior to that from 27 May 2011 until 6 June 2016, he served as the State Minister for Local Government. He replaced Perez Ahabwe. Onzima also served as the elected member of parliament, representing Maracha County, Maracha District in the 9th Parliament.

Our Lady of Consolata Kisubi Hospital, also Our Lady of Consolation Kisubi Hospital, commonly referred to as Kisubi Hospital, is a private, non-profit, community hospital in the Central Region of Uganda. The hospital is in the neighborhood of Kisubi in Wakiso District. This is approximately 35 kilometres (22 mi), by road, south-west of Kampala, the capital and largest city of Uganda. The coordinates of Kisubi Hospital are 00°07′20″N32°32′13″E.

Florence Nakiwala Kiyingi, is a Ugandan businesswoman and politician. She is the current presidential advisor for Youth and Children Affairs in Uganda. She was appointed to this position on 6 June 2021. She is the former Minister of State for Youth and Children Affairs in the Cabinet of Uganda. She was appointed to that position on 6 June 2016 to 6 June 2021 She is also the Federation of Uganda Football Associations third Vice-President, the first woman to hold that position in Uganda. As well serves as the Chairperson Commonwealth Youth Ministers Task force voted to that position in 2017.

Dennis Galabuzi Ssozi also Dennis Galabuzi Ssozi, is a Ugandan civil engineer, politician and businessman. He is the State Minister for Luweero Triangle in the Ugandan Cabinet. He was appointed to that position on 6 June 2016, replacing Sarah Kataike, who was dropped from cabinet. Galabuzi Ssozi also serves as the elected member of parliament, representing Busiro North Constituency, in Wakiso District, in the 10th Parliament of Uganda (2016–2021).

Kania Mario Obiga is a Ugandan politician. He is the State Minister for Internal Affairs in the Ugandan Cabinet. He was appointed to that position of 6 June 2016. He concurrently serves as the elected representative of Terego County East, Arua District, in the 10th Parliament of Uganda (2016–2021).

Uganda National Academy of Sciences is a nonprofit, scientific organization in Uganda, that brings together scientists from the behavioral, biological, physical and social sciences. These scientists work together to promote excellence in sciences by "offering independent, evidence-based advice for the prosperity of Uganda", according to the academy's brochure.

Thomas Tayebwa is a member of the Parliament of Uganda since 2016, and has served as Deputy Speaker of the Parliament since 2022. He was appointed as the Government Chief Whip by Yoweri Kaguta Museveni. Since 2016, he serves as the Member of Parliament for Ruhinda North County in Mitooma District and a member of NRM. He became known for beating a UMEME employee on a leaked video, for which he apologized on 29 August 2020. He served as a member of National Economy Committee and Natural Resources Committee. On 25 March 2022, he was elected by fellow MPs as the Deputy Speaker of Uganda's 11th Parliament, taking over from Among who moved up to be the Speaker of the Parliament, all events following the death of Speaker Jacob Oulanyah.
