American post-hardcore band Girls Against Boys has released six full-length studio albums, two studio EPs, and numerous singles.
Girls Against Boys initially released the EP Nineties vs. Eighties in 1990. It was followed up by their first actual full-length album, Tropic of Scorpio , in 1992. After signing to the label Touch and Go Records, they released a trilogy of albums which consisted of 1993's Venus Luxure No. 1 Baby , 1994's Cruise Yourself (which contained their first charting single "(I) Don't Got a Place"), and 1996's House of GVSB . [1] The band then signed to the major label Geffen Records and released the album Freak*on*ica in 1998, which spawned their most successful single "Park Avenue". After departing from the label, they released the 2002 album You Can't Fight What You Can't See , and it was the band's final full-length album since they entered a period of sporadic activity afterwards. Girls Against Boys eventually released the EP entitled The Ghost List in 2013. [2]
In addition to the eight main releases, Girls Against Boys released various other singles and outside contributions. The non-album single "Sexy Sam" in 1994 had contained one song from each of their prior albums up to that point, their Joy Division cover "She's Lost Control" was released as a standalone single in 1995, a promotional compilation by Geffen Records titled Fuse the Power of Now was released in 1998, and Girls Against Boys contributed to the majority of the soundtrack to the film Series 7: The Contenders in 2001. Jawbox is an American post-hardcore band from Washington, D.C., formed in 1989 by J. Robbins (vocals/guitar), Kim Coletta (bass), and Adam Wade (drums). After the trio released the album Grippe in 1991, Bill Barbot (guitar/vocals) joined as the fourth member. Jawbox released their second album Novelty in 1992, followed by Wade being replaced by Zach Barocas that same year. Jawbox signed to the major label Atlantic Records and released their third album For Your Own Special Sweetheart in 1994, which spawned the band's most recognizable song "Savory". After the release of their fourth album Jawbox in 1996, the band departed from Atlantic, and subsequently disbanded in 1997. They reunited for a brief one-off show in 2009, followed by a full-time reunion in 2019. Barbot left the band in 2021 and he was replaced by Brooks Harlan.
Mammoth Records was an independent record label founded in 1989 by Jay Faires in the Carrboro area of Chapel Hill, North Carolina. The majority of the acts on Mammoth were executive-produced by Faires and the label's general manager, Steve Balcom. The label was the first independent to produce two platinum records.

Girls Against Boys is a post-hardcore band which formed in Washington, D.C., and subsequently relocated to New York City shortly after their formation in 1989. The band released albums on the labels Adult Swim, Touch and Go Records, Geffen Records, and Jade Tree from 1990 to 2002. The band then sporadically played shows from 2003 until 2009 when they became inactive as a whole. In 2013, Girls Against Boys briefly toured and self-released their first new material in 11 years. After another hiatus in 2017, they reunited for a longer term in 2021.

The latter, having been recorded in 1986, is one of the earliest examples of hip house and most likely the first song of the genre. Hip house is a subgenre of house music which features rap vocals performed over a house rhythm track.

An overtly political band, their lyrics ranged from "superfluous nods to radical heroes like George Jackson and Carlos the Jackal" to "describ[ing] the relationship between struggling individuals and the machinery of oppressive politics".
Freak*on*ica is the fifth studio album by American rock band Girls Against Boys, released on May 18, 1998, through DGC Records. It was their first and only album for a major label. It was produced by Nick Launay.
Pia Mia Perez is an American singer, songwriter, and model. She began her career by posting videos of herself singing on the video sharing site YouTube, and went on to star in commercials and music videos. Pia Mia signed a recording contract with Interscope Records in 2013, subsequently releasing her debut extended play, The Gift, and a series of singles, including "Do It Again" and "Touch". In 2016, she was featured on will.i.am's single "Boys & Girls" which reached the top 40 in the UK Singles Chart. In 2017, Pia Mia independently released an EP entitled The Gift 2. Pia would later leave Interscope Records and become an independent artist in late 2017, creating her own label Cherry Pie Records. Pia briefly signed a record deal with Republic Records and Electric Feel Entertainment in 2020, before separating the following year.
