Jason Neil Gillespie is an Australian cricket coach and former cricketer who played all three formats of the game. Jason Gillespie was appointed as the head coach for Pakistan's red-ball (Test) cricket team on April 28, 2024. However, his tenure was short-lived; he resigned in December 2024.
Glenn Donald McGrath is an Australian former international cricketer whose career spanned 14 years. He was a fast-medium pace bowler and is considered one of the greatest bowlers of all time along with the title of most accurate pace bowler of all time and a leading contributor to Australia's domination of world cricket from the mid-1990s to the late 2000s. McGrath was a member of the Australian team that won three consecutive World Cup trophies in a row, winning the 1999 Cricket World Cup, the 2003 Cricket World Cup, and the 2007 Cricket World Cup. In the 2003 final, he took the winning wicket of Zaheer Khan. McGrath was also a member of the team that won the 2006 ICC Champions Trophy.
Cricket has a considerably lower profile in Scotland than it has in neighbouring England. Scotland is not one of the twelve leading cricketing nations which play Test matches, but the Scottish national team is now allowed to play full One Day Internationals even outside the Cricket World Cup, in which Scotland competed in 1999, 2007, and 2015. Scotland has a well established recreational cricket structure. In 2016 it was estimated that around 17,000 people play cricket in Scotland. At international level, Scotland is ranked as one of the highest 'associate' teams, and has historic rivalries both with its neighbouring full members England and Ireland, and fellow high ranked associate, Netherlands.
The Scotland national men's cricket team represents the country of Scotland. They play most of their home matches at The Grange, Edinburgh, as well as at other venues around Scotland.
Awarded during the Australian Cricket Awards, the Allan Border Medal is considered to be the most prestigious individual prize in Australian men's cricket. First awarded in 2000, the medal is named after former Australian men's captain Allan Border and recognises the most outstanding male Australian cricketer of the past season as voted by his peers, the media and umpires. Votes are cast after each game on a 3–2–1 basis, with a weighting applied to give both One Day International and Test players an equal chance of winning the award.
The 2006–07 season of the Ford Ranger One Day Cup was the 38th season of the domestic one-day cricket competition played in Australia. It involved 30 group matches and a final match. The Queensland Bulls defeated the Victorian Bushrangers in the final, played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
Rana Majid Haq Khan, better known as Majid Haq, is a Scottish cricketer. He is a left-handed batsman and an off spin bowler. He has represented Scotland at Under 17, Under 19 and Under 23 levels, making his debut for the senior side on 20 July 2002 in a European Championship match against an England Board XI. He was a member of the Scottish squad for the 2007 World Cup in the West Indies. Haq is a cousin of fellow cricketer Omer Hussain. Both Hussain and Haq have played for Kelburne Cricket Club, Ferguslie Cricket Club and Clydesdale Cricket Club. He now plays for the Ayrshire-based club, Prestwick Cricket Club. Haq is of Pakistani descent.
Christopher John Llewellyn Rogers is a former Australian cricketer who played for the Australian national team. Rogers is a left-handed opening batsman. He spent ten years playing for Western Australia, before moving to play for Victoria in 2008. He played county cricket in England for ten years representing five first-class teams: Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Northamptonshire, Middlesex and Somerset. Rogers holds the record for most half centuries in consecutive innings.
Omer Hussain is a Scottish cricket player of Pakistani descent. He made his debut for the Scottish cricket team on 18 September 2005 in a C&G Trophy match against Warwickshire. He has played seven times in all for Scotland, including two One Day Internationals. He has also represented his country at Under 15, Under 17, Under 19 and Under 23 level and at international levels. Omer Hussain is a left-handed batsman and is cousin of fellow Scottish international cricketer Majid Haq. Both Omer and Majid have played for Kelburne Cricket Club, Ferguslie Cricket Club and Omer currently plays for Kelburne Cricket Club
Shaun Edward Marsh is an Australian cricketer who previously played for the Western Australia cricket team in Australian domestic cricket and has represented Australia in all three formats. Nicknamed SOS, he is a left-handed top-order batsman.
This is a list of the squads picked for the 2007 Cricket World Cup. This was the ninth Cricket World Cup tournament and was held between 14 March and 28 April 2007. The sixteen teams asked to announce their final squads by 13 February 2007. Changes were allowed after this deadline at the discretion of the ICCs Technical Committee in necessary cases, such as due to player injury. In order to aid the teams to select the final 15, teams were given the option to announce a 30-man squad by mid-January, with the understanding that the final squad would be picked from these 30 players. However, this was not strictly adhered to – several of England's final 15 came from outside the initial 30, for example. The oldest player at the 2007 Cricket World Cup was Desmond Chumney (39) of Canada while the youngest was Alexei Kervezee of the Netherlands.
The Scotland national cricket team toured Bangladesh for a tour match and two ODI matches in December 2006. They lost all three matches.
The Derbyshire Women's cricket team is the women's representative cricket team for the English historic county of Derbyshire. They play their home games at various grounds across the county, and are captained by Megan Pittman. In 2019, they competed in Division 3 of the final season of the Women's County Championship, and have since competed in the Women's Twenty20 Cup, which they won in 2024. They are partnered with the regional side The Blaze.
The CFX Academy cricket team was a first-class cricket team representing the Zimbabwe's cricket academy in the country's domestic cricket competitions. They competed in the Logan Cup from 1999 until 2002. The club played their home matches at the Country Club, Harare.
The 2007 Cricket World Cup, which took place in the West Indies from 13 March to 28 April 2007, featured 16 teams, who were divided into four groups. Group A was made up of full ICC members Australia and South Africa, and associate members Netherlands and Scotland. Australia and South Africa each qualified for the Super Eights by winning their first two matches, which meant their final game against each other would decide who finished top of the group; Australia won by 83 runs to claim top spot. Meanwhile, Scotland and the Netherlands played off in their final match to determine which team finished bottom; the Netherlands won by 8 wickets and finished third.

In 1992 Scotland severed their ties with the Test and County Cricket Board and with English cricket, and gained associate membership of the International Cricket Council (ICC) in their own right in 1994. They competed in the ICC Trophy for the first time in 1997, finishing third and qualifying for the 1999 World Cup, where they lost all their games. They also qualified for the 2007 and 2015 World Cups.
Kirstie Louise Gordon is a Scottish cricketer who currently plays for Kent, The Blaze and Trent Rockets as a slow-left arm orthodox bowler. She played for Scotland from 2012 to 2017, before switching nationality to England for the 2018 ICC Women's World Twenty20 tournament. She has previously played for Nottinghamshire, Loughborough Lightning, Birmingham Phoenix and Otago.
The New Zealand cricket team toured Ireland in July 2022 to play three One Day International (ODI) and three Twenty20 International (T20I) matches. The ODI series formed part of the inaugural 2020–2023 ICC Cricket World Cup Super League.
