Goyenia sylvatica is a species of Desidae spider that is endemic to New Zealand. [1]
This species was described in 1970 by Ray Forster from male and specimens. [1] The holotype is stored in Te Papa Museum under registration number AS.000115. [2]
The male recorded at 5.27mm in length whereas the female is 5.69mm. The cephalothorax and legs are coloured pale yellow brown. The abdomen is creamy with dark patches dorsally. [1]
This species is only known from Stewart Island and Bench Island in New Zealand. [1]
Under the New Zealand Threat Classification System, this species is listed as "Not Threatened". [3]
