Graeme Paul Lowdon (born 23 April 1965) [1] is a British businessman and entrepreneur. He served as chief executive officer of the Virgin and Marussia Formula One teams.
Originally from Corbridge, Lowdon grew up in Stocksfield. [2] He gained both a bachelor's and master's degree in mechanical engineering at Sheffield University, as well as an MBA from Newcastle University. [3] Initially he worked in the power industry in the north of England and Singapore, before joining ABB Group working as part of the international sales force for their power station division. He identified that a potential client also ran an IndyCar team in the United States, and assisted in organising a sponsorship deal with the team. [3]
In 1996 Lowdon returned to the UK and created Industry On-line, providing online trading platforms for industry. He also co-founded Eiger Racing, a Formula Renault racing team. Having secured investment from 3i, he developed Industry On-line into Just2Clicks, which was floated on the Alternative Investment Market in 2000. [2] At the end of 2000 Lowdon joined Manor Motorsport in a non-executive commercial role. [3]
In 2002 he co-founded Nomad Digital, now the world's leading provider of data communications to the transportation sector, specialising in providing WiFi on trains. [3]
He helped Manor Motorsport to develop into a Formula One team. Lowdon had strong links with Richard Branson's Virgin Group, Virgin Rail Group being one of Nomad's customers. He used these links to create the Virgin Racing team. On 30 October 2015, the team announced the resignation of both Lowdon and team boss John Booth from the team at the end of 2015, citing differences with team owner Stephen Fitzpatrick. [4] He later returned to Manor Motorsport, overseeing its FIA World Endurance Championship programme. [5]
In December 2024, it was announced that Lowdon would become the team principal for the upcoming Cadillac Formula 1 Team, which is set to debut in 2026. [6]

Christian Edward Johnston Horner is a British motorsport executive and former racing driver. Since 2005, Horner has served as team principal and CEO of Red Bull Racing in Formula One, winning six World Constructors' Championship titles between 2010 and 2023.

HRT Formula 1 Team, formerly known as Campos Meta 1 and Hispania Racing, was a Spanish Formula One team founded by former driver Adrián Campos. It was sold to José Ramón Carabante before its debut in 2010, and then to investment group Thesan Capital in July 2011. John Alfred Booth is the former Director of Racing at Scuderia Toro Rosso. He is the former team principal of the Virgin/Marussia Formula One team. He was initially the team's sporting director, but took over the role of team principal from Alex Tai less than one month after the team's launch.
William Jonathan Richard Stevens is a British racing driver, currently competing in the FIA World Endurance Championship for Jota. Stevens competed in Formula One from 2014 to 2015. In endurance racing, Stevens won the 2022 FIA World Endurance Championship in the LMP2 class with Jota.

Virgin Racing was a Formula One racing team which was under management of Manor Motorsport, Wirth Research and Richard Branson's Virgin Group and competed in 2010 with a British licence and in 2011 with a Russian licence. It scored no points and finished last in the Constructor's Championship for the two years the team competed.
The Virgin VR-01 was a Formula One motor racing car designed by Nick Wirth for Virgin Racing in the 2010 season. It was driven by former Toyota driver Timo Glock and Brazilian ex-GP2 driver Lucas di Grassi. The car was the first Formula One racing car designed entirely with computational fluid dynamics. The Marussia F1 Team was a Formula One racing team and constructor which was based in Banbury, Oxfordshire and then later Dinnington, South Yorkshire in the United Kingdom and competed with a Russian licence from 2012 to 2014 and a British licence in 2015. The team was operated by Manor Motorsport, which was previously a subsidiary of Marussia Motors, a now defunct sports car manufacturer which was based in Moscow. The team originally started racing in 2010 under the "Virgin Racing" name; the following year Virgin adopted Marussia as a title sponsor becoming "Marussia Virgin Racing" until being fully rebranded as the "Marussia F1 Team" for 2012.
Cyril François Roger Abiteboul is a French auto racing engineer and manager. He has served as the team principal of Hyundai Motorsport since 2023. From 2013 to 2014 he was the team principal of Caterham Formula One team, and was the managing director of the Renault F1 Team from 2014 to 2020.
Claire Victoria Williams is a British former motorsport executive who was the deputy team principal of the Williams Formula One racing team from 2013 to 2020.
