Gwen Stacy: Beyond Amazing (originally known simply as Gwen Stacy) is a 5-issue comic book series written by Christos Gage and drawn by Todd Nauck. Published by Marvel Comics and set between The Amazing Spider-Man #14 and #31, the story revolves around the teenage Gwen Stacy of Earth-616, before she began dating Peter Parker in college, as she seeks to clear her father George Stacy's name after he is accused of corruption, investigating several supervillains in the process. The series went on an extended hiatus after its first two issues were published in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with the remaining three issues being released together (along with reprints of the first two issues) in Giant-Size Gwen Stacy in 2022, [1] and collected under the Beyond Amazing subtitle in 2024.
The series received a universally positive critical reception.
The Gwen Stacy solo miniseries, written by Christos Gage and illustrated by Todd Nauck, was scheduled to be published for five issues in 2020; [2] before going on an extended hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic after its first two issues, with the remaining three issues being released together (along with reprints of the first two issues) in Giant-Size Gwen Stacy in 2022, [1] [3] [4] with the full series being collected as Gwen Stacy: Beyond Amazing in 2024. [5] While the series primarily follows the story of a teenage Gwen Stacy aiming to clear her father George of a corruption charge, investigating several supervillains in the process, the first issue also contains the back-up stories "Gwen Stacy: Kid Cop!" (written by Sean Ryan and drawn by Gustavo Duarte; a parody of Peanuts ), "The A-Gwen-Gers" (written by Ryan and drawn by Carlos Gómez; following alternate-universe incarnations of Gwen who became a superhero team, including Gwen Stacy / Spider-Woman of Earth-65), "Gwen Stacy: Goblin Slayer" (written by Ryan and drawn by Juan Gedeo; following a future revived one-eyed Gwen slaying goblins in an overrun New York), and "Gwen's Fashion Favorites" (written and drawn by Nina Vakueva; allowing the reader to dress-up Gwen).
