Habutarus is a genus of carabids in the beetle family Carabidae. There are more than 20 described species in Habutarus, found in Australia and New Guinea. [1] [2]
These 23 species belong to the genus Habutarus:
Ant spiders are members of the family Zodariidae. They are small to medium-sized eight-eyed spiders found in all tropical and subtropical regions of South America, Africa, Madagascar, Australia-New Guinea, New Zealand, Arabia and the Indian subcontinent. Most species are daytime hunters and live together with ants, mimicking their behavior and sometimes even their chemical traits. Although little is known about most zodariids, members of the genus Zodarion apparently feed only on ants; a number of other genera in the family are apparently also ant specialists.
Hersilia, also known as long-spinnereted bark spiders and two-tailed spiders, is a genus of tree trunk spiders that was first described by Jean Victoire Audouin in 1826. Their nicknames are a reference to their greatly enlarged spinnerets.
Helluosoma is a genus in the beetle family Carabidae. There are about seven described species in Helluosoma.
Pogonoglossus is a genus in the beetle family Carabidae. There are more than 30 described species in Pogonoglossus.
Colasidia is a genus in the beetle family Carabidae. There are more than 40 described species in Colasidia, found in Southeast Asia.
Sarothrocrepis is a genus in the beetle family Carabidae. There are more than 110 described species in Sarothrocrepis, found mainly in Australia, but also in Indonesia, New Guinea, Papua, and the Philippines.
Microlestodes is a genus in the beetle family Carabidae. There are about 16 described species in Microlestodes.
Aristolebia is a genus in the beetle family Carabidae. There are more than 20 described species in Aristolebia.
Dolichoctis is a genus in the beetle family Carabidae. There are more than 130 described species in Dolichoctis.
Stricklandiana is a genus in the beetle family Carabidae. There are about 11 described species in Stricklandiana.
Crassacantha is a genus in the ground beetle family Carabidae. This genus has a single species, Crassacantha bidens. It is found in Indonesia and New Guinea.
Dicraspeda is a genus in the beetle family Carabidae. There are more than 30 described species in Dicraspeda.
Scopodes is a genus of beetles in the family Carabidae and is found in Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, New Caledonia, and Papua New Guinea.
Mecyclothorax is a genus of beetles that contains over 400 described species or subspecies, mostly from the Hawaiian Islands, and Tahiti and Moorea, French Polynesia. Additional radiations have evolved in Queensland, Australia, New Guinea and New Caledonia. The genus has been divided into five subgenera: Eucyclothorax Liebherr 2018 of Australia, Qecyclothorax Liebherr 2018 of Queensland, Australia, Meonochilus Liebherr & Marris, 2009 of New Zealand, Phacothorax Jeannel 1944 of New Caledonia, and the more widely distributed subgenus Mecyclothorax Sharp 1903 [in Australia, the Sundas, New Zealand, the Society Islands, and Hawaii]. The adelphotaxon to Mecyclothorax is hypothesized to consist of the genera associated with Amblytelus Blackburn, also distributed in Australia, and therefore the evolutionary history of Mecyclothorax commenced in Australia.
Fortagonum is a genus in the beetle family Carabidae. There are more than 20 described species in Fortagonum, found in Indonesia and New Guinea.
Notagonum is a genus in the beetle family Carabidae. There are more than 80 described species in Notagonum.
Sphallomorpha is a genus in the beetle family Carabidae. There are at least 160 described species in Sphallomorpha, found mainly in Australia, but also in Indonesia and New Guinea.
Tachyta is a genus of ground beetles in the family Carabidae. There are more than 30 described species in Tachyta.
Prethopalpus is a spider genus known as goblin spiders and are found in the Australasian tropics, including Nepal, India, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea and Australia. Three species are widely distributed, whereas the majority of species are recorded a single localities. Of the 41 species, 14 blind troglobite species live in subterranean ecosystems in Western Australia.
Tamopsis is a genus of tree trunk spiders that was first described by B. Baehr & M. Baehr in 1987. Like other members of the family, they may be called two-tailed spiders, referring to two elongated spinnerets. The name is derived from the genus Tama and the Ancient Greek ὄψις, meaning "resembling".
