The Hawkboard [1] is a low-power, low-cost Single-board computer based on the Texas Instruments OMAP-L138. Along with the usage of the OMAP ARM9 processor, it also has a floating point DSP. It is a community supported development platform.

Arm Holdings develops the architecture and licenses it to other companies, who design their own products that implement one of those architectures—including systems-on-chips (SoC) and systems-on-modules (SoM) that incorporate memory, interfaces, radios, etc. It also designs cores that implement this instruction set and licenses these designs to a number of companies that incorporate those core designs into their own products.

The board was developed by a small team of engineers as an educational board that could be used in colleges around the world to teach open source hardware and software capabilities. It is also sold to the public under the Creative Commons share-alike license.
