Flashdance is a 1983 American romantic drama dance film directed by Adrian Lyne and starring Jennifer Beals as a passionate young dancer who aspires to become a professional ballerina (Alex), alongside Michael Nouri playing her boyfriend and the owner of the steel mill where she works by day in Pittsburgh. It was the first collaboration of producers Don Simpson and Jerry Bruckheimer, and the presentation of some sequences in the style of music videos was an influence on other 1980s films including Footloose, Purple Rain, and Top Gun, Simpson and Bruckheimer's most famous production. It was also one of Lyne's first major film releases, building on a television commercials. Alex's elaborate dance sequences were shot using body doubles.

Under Great White Northern Lights is a 2009 documentary film about the White Stripes' summer 2007 tour across Canada directed by Emmett Malloy. It contains live concert and off-stage footage. The film's accompanying album is a collection of various recordings from throughout the tour. The documentary was released on DVD and Blu-ray, and the album was released on CD as well as 180-gram vinyl LP. A special edition box set was also available. The CD, LP, DVD, BD, and box set were all released on March 16, 2010 in Canada, with other dates worldwide.

The song was re-released in 1999 on the U.S. version of Big Sugar's next album, Heated. Between 1995 and 2016, "Diggin' a Hole" was the fifth-most-played song by a Canadian artist on rock radio stations in Canada.

Written by the producers with the exception of BoogzDaBeast, it is a rock-influenced industrial track that includes a sample of Napoleon XIV's "They're Coming to Take Me Away, Ha-Haaa!".
