History

HiBob was founded in 2015 in Tel Aviv by Amit Knaani, Ronni Zehavi, Israel David, and Andy Bellass to develop human resources software intended for internationally distributed workforce. [4] [5] Initially, it was funded by the venture capital firms of the United States. [6]

In 2016, HiBob was launched in the United Kingdom. [7] A year later, in 2017, it received $17.5 million in a Series A funding round. [7] [8] In 2019, it received additional funding of $20 million. [9] [10]

In 2020, HiBob raised $70 million in Series B funding and by late 2020 it had raised approximately US$124 million in venture capital funding. [11] [12] [13] Additional financing rounds included a Series C of US$150 million in October 2021 and a Series D of the same amount in August 2022, increasing the company's valuation first to US$1.65 billion and subsequently to US$2.45 billion. [4] [14] [15] Another US$150 million funding round occurred in September 2023, led by Farallon Capital and Alpha Wave Global, raising HiBob's valuation to nearly US$2.7 billion and bringing total funding to approximately US$574 million. [16] [17] [18]

In 2021, HiBob acquired Cassiopia and subsequently integrated its anonymous reporting tool, Your Voice, into the HiBob platform. [19] [20] A year later, HiBob made another acquisition and acquired Lisbon-based company Bugle. [21]

In November 2022, Time selected HiBob for its annual "200 Best Inventions" list. [22] [23] HiBob also appeared on Forbes' Cloud 100 in both 2023 and 2024. [24]

In 2024, HiBob acquired Tiger Global-backed Pento, a payroll automation platform based in London. [25] [26] [27] A year later, in 2025, HiBob acquired the U.S.-based fintech firm Mosaic, integrating its AI-powered financial management capabilities into the HiBob HR platform. [28] [29]

Platform

HiBob is a software-as-a-service human resources information system (HRIS) platform primarily serving small and mid-size companies in the United Kingdom and the United States. It is used for managing onboarding, time-off requests, time sheets, performance evaluations, compensation, and analytics. [4] [12] [30] Its interface includes social feed, pulse surveys, templates for individual meetings, payroll processing, and benefits administration. [4] [22] The platform also automates routine HR tasks and supports scheduling for hybrid work arrangements and geographically dispersed teams. [22] [31]
