The 2022 Holiday Bash was the third annual Holiday Bash professional wrestling Christmas television special produced by All Elite Wrestling (AEW). It took place on December 21, 2022, at the Freeman Coliseum in San Antonio, Texas. The two-part event was broadcast as special episodes of AEW's weekly television programs, Wednesday Night Dynamite and Friday Night Rampage . Dynamite aired live on TBS while Rampage aired on tape delay on December 23 on TNT.
Holiday Bash is an annual Christmas television special produced by All Elite Wrestling (AEW) since 2020. While the original event only aired as a special episode of AEW's flagship program, Wednesday Night Dynamite , [2] the 2021 event expanded it to a two-part event, with the second part airing as a special episode of Rampage , which aired on Saturday instead of its usual Friday. [3] On October 12, 2022, it was announced that the third Holiday Bash would take place on December 21 at the Freeman Coliseum in San Antonio, Texas. Dynamite aired live on TBS while Rampage aired on tape delay on Friday, December 23 on TNT. [4]
Holiday Bash featured professional wrestling matches that involved different wrestlers from pre-existing scripted feuds and storylines. Wrestlers portrayed heroes, villains, or less distinguishable characters in scripted events that built tension and culminated in a wrestling match or series of matches. [5] Storylines were produced on AEW's weekly television programs, Dynamite and Rampage, the supplementary online streaming shows, Dark and Elevation , and The Young Bucks' YouTube series Being The Elite .
At Full Gear, Death Triangle (Pac, Penta El Zero Miedo, and Rey Fénix) defeated The Elite (Kenny Omega, Matt Jackson, and Nick Jackson) to retain the AEW World Trios Championship. Afterwards, it was announced that the Full Gear match was the first in a Best of Seven Series for the championship. [6] Death Triangle would again defeat The Elite on the following episode of Dynamite, but The Elite gained a win on the next week's episode. [7] At Winter Is Coming, Death Triangle secured another win to lead the series at 3–1. The fifth match in the series was scheduled for Dynamite: Holiday Bash as a No Disqualification match. [8]
With The Elite's (Kenny Omega, Matt Jackson, and Nick Jackson) win over Death Triangle (Pac, Penta El Zero Miedo, and Rey Fénix), it brought the series to 3–2, with the sixth match scheduled for Dynamite: New Year's Smash as a Falls Count Anywhere match. [9]

Fénix is a Mexican luchador enmascarado. He is signed to All Elite Wrestling where he is a former AEW International Champion. He also appeared at AEW's sister promotion, Ring of Honor (ROH), where he is a previous holder of the ROH World Tag Team Champions with his older brother, Penta El Zero Miedo.
Pentagón Jr. is a Mexican luchador enmascarado. He is best known for his tenure in All Elite Wrestling (AEW) from 2019 to 2024, where he was a former AEW World Trios Champion with his Death Triangle stablemates Pac and his real-life younger brother, Rey Fénix. Penta and Fénix also team as the Lucha Brothers and are former one-time AEW World Tag Team Champions. He also spent some time in Ring of Honor (ROH), where they are former ROH World Tag Team Champions. He also appeared in Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (AAA), where he is a former AAA World Tag Team Champion, also with Fénix.
The Lucha Brothers, also known as the Lucha Bros or Los Lucha Bros, are a Mexican professional wrestling tag team consisting of brothers Penta El Zero Miedo or Penta Oscuro and Rey Fénix, and their manager Alex Abrahantes. They are known for their time in All Elite Wrestling (AEW), where they were former AEW World Tag Team Champions, as well as former AEW World Trios Champions with their former Death Triangle stablemate, Pac. They also appeared for AEW's sister promotion, Ring of Honor (ROH), where they are former ROH World Tag Team Champions. In Mexico, they wrestled for Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (AAA), where they are two-time AAA World Tag Team Champions. It was the third annual Grand Slam event and took place on September 20, 2023, at the Arthur Ashe Stadium in the Queens borough of New York City, encompassing the broadcasts of Wednesday Night Dynamite and Friday Night Rampage. Dynamite aired live on TBS while Rampage aired on tape delay on September 22 on TNT and was expanded to two hours for the Grand Slam special. This would be the final Grand Slam in which the second part aired as Rampage as in 2024, the second part instead aired as Saturday Night Collision.
