Maximum Carnage was a two-part professional wrestling television special produced by All Elite Wrestling (AEW). It took place on January 15 and 16, 2025, at the Andrew J. Brady Music Center in Cincinnati, Ohio, and was encompassing the broadcasts of Wednesday Night Dynamite and Saturday Night Collision . Dynamite aired live on January 15 on TBS in the United States, while Collision was taped on January 16 and aired on tape delay on January 18 on TNT, also in the United States. Both shows was also simulcast on the streaming service Max.

Production

Background

On December 5, 2024, the American professional wrestling promotion All Elite Wrestling (AEW) filed to trademark "Maximum Carnage". [3] On December 23, the company announced that Maximum Carnage would be a two-part television special, first airing as a special episode of AEW's flagship program, Wednesday Night Dynamite , and then as a special episode of Saturday Night Collision . The event was scheduled to be held on January 15 and 16, 2025, at the Andrew J. Brady Music Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. Dynamite aired live on January 15 on TBS in the United States, while Collision was taped on January 16 and aired on tape delay on January 18 on TNT, also in the United States. Both shows was also simulcast on the streaming service Max. [4]

Maximum Carnage is featuring professional wrestling matches that involved different wrestlers from pre-existing scripted feuds and storylines. [5] Storylines were produced on AEW's weekly television programs, Dynamite and Collision. [6] [7]

While the prior three events only aired as a special episode of Wednesday Night Dynamite, the 2023 event expanded Winter Is Coming to a three-part special, also encompassing Friday Night Rampage and Saturday Night Collision. Dynamite aired live on December 13 on TBS and was held at the College Park Center in Arlington, Texas, while Rampage was taped that same night and aired on tape delay on December 15 on TNT. Collision aired live on December 16 on TNT and was held at the Curtis Culwell Center in Garland, Texas, the same location as the 2021 and 2022 events.

It was the fifth annual Winter Is Coming event and took place on December 11 and 12, 2024, at the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Missouri and the Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis, Missouri, respectively, encompassing the broadcasts of Wednesday Night Dynamite, Friday Night Rampage, and Saturday Night Collision. Dynamite aired live on December 11 on TBS, Rampage was taped the same night and aired on tape delay on December 13 on TNT, while Collision was taped on December 12 and aired on tape delay on December 14, also on TNT. All totaled, 16 matches aired over the three shows.

The 2025 Fight for the Fallen was a professional wrestling television special produced by All Elite Wrestling (AEW). It was the sixth Fight for the Fallen charity event and was held on New Year's Day on January 1, 2025, at Harrah's Cherokee Center in Asheville, North Carolina and aired live as a special episode of Wednesday Night Dynamite on TBS as well as the streaming service Max in the United States. This was the company's first event to be simulcast on television and Max, with all future AEW television programs to be simulcast on Max. This was the first Fight for the Fallen since August 2023 and the first one-night iteration since 2021. The event helped support victims of Hurricane Helene, which greatly affected the Asheville area in September 2024.

The 2024 Holiday Bash was a two-part professional wrestling television special produced by All Elite Wrestling (AEW). It was the fifth annual Holiday Bash and took place on December 18, 2024, at the Entertainment & Sports Arena in Washington, D.C., airing as Christmas-themed episodes of Wednesday Night Dynamite and Friday Night Rampage. Dynamite aired live on TBS while Rampage was taped the same night and aired on tape delay on TNT on December 20. This was a minor broadcast change from the previous year, as it had aired in three-parts that included Saturday Night Collision which instead aired as a different special called Christmas Collision.
