The Billie Jean King Cup is the premier international team competition in women's tennis, launched as the Federation Cup in 1963 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the International Tennis Federation (ITF). The name was changed to the Fed Cup in 1995, and changed again in September 2020 in honor of former World No. 1 Billie Jean King. The Billie Jean King Cup is the world's largest annual women's international team sports competition in terms of the number of nations that compete. The current Chairperson is Katrina Adams.
The India Billie Jean King Cup team represents India in the WTA & ITF Billie Jean King Cup professional tennis competition and are governed by the All India Tennis Association. They will compete in the Asia/Oceania Zone of Group I in 2016.
The Singapore Fed Cup team represents Singapore in Fed Cup tennis competition and are governed by the Singapore Tennis Association. They currently compete in the Group II Asia/Oceania Zone.
The Malaysia Fed Cup team represents Malaysia in Fed Cup tennis competition and are governed by the Lawn Tennis Association of Malaysia. They did not compete during 2003 to 2012. In 2013 they made their return to Fed Cup finishing 6th in the Asia/Oceania Zone Group II.
The Kyrgyzstan Fed Cup team represents Kyrgyzstan in Fed Cup tennis competition and are governed by the Kyrgyzstan Tennis Federation.
The Pakistan Billie Jean King/Fed Cup team represents Pakistan in Billie Jean King Cup tennis competition and are governed by the Pakistan Tennis Federation.
The Vietnam Fed Cup team represents Vietnam in Fed Cup tennis competition and are governed by the Vietnam Tennis Federation. They have not competed since 2014.
The Asia/Oceania Zone was one of three zones of regional competition in the 2014 Fed Cup.

The Bahrain Fed Cup team represents Bahrain in Fed Cup tennis competition and are governed by the Bahrain Tennis Federation. They will take part in the Fed Cup for the first time in 2016, competing in the Asia/Oceania Zone Group II.

They lost their first Fed Cup match against the Philippines with their first win being their 3-0 victory over Turkmenistan in their second Fed Cup game. Prior to their Fed Cup debut in 2020, Guam was previously affiliated with the Pacific Oceania team.

Pool A of the 2022 Billie Jean King Cup Asia/Oceania Zone Group I was the only pool in the Asia/Oceania zone of the 2020–21 Billie Jean King Cup. Six teams competed in a round robin competition, with the top placing teams advancing to the 2022 Billie Jean King Cup Play-offs.

Five teams competed in a round robin competition, with each team proceeding to their respective sections of the play-offs: the top team played for advancement to Group I in 2023.
The play-offs of the 2022 Billie Jean King Cup Asia/Oceania Zone Group II were the final stages of the Group II zonal competition involving teams from Asia/Oceania. Using the positions determined in their pools, the eighteen teams faced off to determine their placing in the 2022 Billie Jean King Cup Asia/Oceania Zone Group II. The top two teams advanced to Billie Jean King Cup Asia/Oceania Zone Group I.
Pool B (Dushanbe) of the 2022 Billie Jean King Cup Asia/Oceania Zone Group II was one of four pools in the Asia/Oceania zone of the 2022 Billie Jean King Cup. Four teams competed in a round robin competition, with each team proceeding to their respective sections of the play-offs: the top team played for advancement to Group I in 2023.
