Hong Kong first competed at the Deaflympics for the first time in 1985. Since then Hong Kong has been participating in the Deaflympics. [1] Hong Kong won its first medal during the 2009 Summer Deaflympics, which is also the only medal awarded to them in Deaflympic history.
Hong Kong has yet to participate at the Winter Deaflympics.

Sports in Hong Kong are a significant part of its culture. Due to British influence going as far back as the late 19th century, Hong Kong had an earlier introduction to Western athletics compared to other Asia regions. Horse racing has most spectators, while football, basketball, swimming, badminton, table tennis, cycling and running have the most participants. Golf is an increasingly popular sport, despite the relatively few number of courses in the city. In 2009, Hong Kong successfully organised the V East Asian Games and it was the biggest sporting event ever held in the territory. Other major international sporting events including the Equestrian at the 2008 Summer Olympics, the Hong Kong Open Golf Championship, the Hong Kong Sevens, Hong Kong Marathon, AFC Asian Cup, EAFF East Asian Cup, Hong Kong Badminton Open, Hong Kong Tennis Classic, Premier League Asia Trophy, and Lunar New Year Cup. Hong Kong athletes have improved in worldwide rankings. As of 2010, there are 32 Hong Kong athletes from seven sports ranking in world's Top 20, 29 athletes in six sports in Asia top 10 ranking. Moreover, Hong Kong is equally impressive performance of athletes with disabilities in 2009, having won four world championships and two Asian Champions.
Hong Kong first competed at the Olympic Games in 1952, then as a British colony. Hong Kong has participated at every Summer Olympic Games since then except for the boycotted 1980 Games, and has also participated in the Winter Olympic Games since 2002.
The United States has been participating at the Deaflympics from 1935 and it is also currently placed first in the all time Deaflympics medal list. US has won more than 1000 medals, the only nation to do so in Deaflympics.
Spain competed at the inaugural edition of the Deaflympics in 1957. But they did not participate in a Deaflympics competition until 1973. Since then Spain has been regularly participating at the Deaflympics. Spain won its first Deaflympics medal way back in 1981.
Argentina completed at the Deaflympics for the first time in 1965. Since then Argentina has been regularly participating at the Deaflympics.Argentina won its first Deaflympics medal in 1965. Argentina has never competed at the Winter Deaflympics.
Brazil competed at the Deaflympics for the first time in 1993. Since then Brazil has been regularly participating at the Deaflympics. Brazil won its first Deaflympics medal in 2009. Brazil has never competed at the Winter Deaflympics.
China completed at the Deaflympics for the first time way back in 1989. Since then, China has been regularly participating at the Deaflympics. China won its first Deaflympics medal also in 1989. China has competed at the Winter Deaflympics in 2007 and in 2015.
Portugal competed at the Deaflympics for the first in 1993. Since then Portugal has been regularly participating at the Deaflympics. Portugal won its first Deaflympics medal also in 1993. Portugal has never participated in the Winter Deaflympics.
Colombia competed at the Summer Deaflympics for the first time in 1969. Colombia also won its only Deaflympics medal to date that same year. Colombia has never participated in the Winter Deaflympics.
Egypt made its Deaflympics debut in the 2013 Summer Deaflympics. Egypt claimed their first Deaflympic medal when they clinched the bronze medal for football in the 2017 Summer Deaflympics Egypt has never participated in the Winter Deaflympics.
Cyprus first competed at the Deaflympics way back in 1997. Since then Cyprus has been participating at the Deaflympics regularly. Cyprus won its first Deaflympic medal for bowling at the 2013 Summer Deaflympics. Cyprus has never participated in the Winter Deaflympics.
Kyrgyzstan first competed at the Deaflympics for the first time in 2009. Kyrgyzstan also won a bronze medal for wrestling in their first Deaflympic event. Currently Kyrgyzstan has won a total of 3 medals in Deaflympics.
Kazakhstan first competed at the Deaflympics for the first time in 1997. Kazakhstan claimed their first Deaflympic medal in their first Deaflympic experience and finished with 2 medals in the event. So far, Kazakhstan has managed to bag 8 medals in the event's history.
Slovenia first competed at the Deaflympics for the first time in 1993. Since then, Slovenia has been regularly participating at the Summer Deaflympics. Slovenia won its first Deaflympic medal in the 1993 Summer Deaflympics.
Hungary has been participating at the Deaflympics since its inception in 1924 and has earned a total of 132 medals.
Uzbekistan has been participating at the Deaflympics since 1997. Uzbekistan won its first Deaflympic medal in the 2009 Summer Deaflympics for Taekwondo, which is also their only medal in Deaflympics history.
Mexico has been participating at the Deaflympics since making its debut way back in 1965. Mexico won its first Deaflympic medal in the 2001 Summer Deaflympics for Athletics. In the 2017 Summer Deaflympics, Mexico won its first ever gold medal in Deaflympics history for Judo.
Czech Republic which was formerly a part of Czechoslovakia, first competed at the Deaflympics, as an independent nation in 1993. But in 1993, coincidentally Czechoslovakia competed in its last Deaflympic event. Prior to the Dissolution of Czechoslovakia in 1993, Czech athletes went on to compete at the Deaflympics from 1928 to 1993 for Czechoslovakia.
Czechoslovakia first competed at the Deaflympics for the first time in 1928, which was also the 2nd World Games for the Deaf.
Soviet Union competed at the Deaflympics for the first time in 1957. Soviet Union competed at each editions of the Summer Deaflympics from 1957 to 1989 except for the 1985 Summer Deaflympics until the dissolution of the Soviet Union. Soviet Union has won medals in every editions of the Summer Deaflympics it has competed and it is considered as one of the greatest nations to have participated at the Deaflympics after earning a medal haul of 524 at the Summer Deaflympics.
