Hope & Pen-y-ffordd railway station was a station in Penyffordd, Flintshire, Wales. The station was opened on 14 August 1849 and closed on 30 April 1962. [1] [2] The last Station Master/Goods Agent was Mr T G C Jones who transferred to Deganwy on closure.
Harlech is a seaside resort and community in the North Wales county of Gwynedd and formerly in the historic county of Merionethshire. It lies on Tremadog Bay in the Snowdonia National Park. Before 1966, it belonged to the Meirionydd District of the 1974 County of Gwynedd. Its landmark Harlech Castle was begun in 1283 by Edward I of England, captured by Owain Glyndŵr, and in the 1480s, a stronghold of Henry Tudor. Once on a seaside cliff face, it is now half a mile inland. New housing has appeared in the low town and in the high town around the shopping street, church and castle. The two are linked by a steep road called "Twtil". Of its 1,447 inhabitants, 51 per cent habitually speak Welsh. The built-up area with Llanfair had a population of 1,762 in the 2001 census, over half of whom lacked Welsh identity, and the electoral ward which includes Talsarnau 1,997 in the 2011 census. The estimate in 2019 was 1,881.
Penmaenmawr is a town and community in Conwy County Borough, Wales, which was formerly in the parish of Dwygyfylchi and the traditional county of Caernarfonshire. It is on the North Wales coast between Conwy and Llanfairfechan and was an important quarrying town, though quarrying is no longer a major employer. The population of the community was 4,353 in 2011, including Dwygyfylchi and Capelulo. The town itself having a population of 2,868 (2011).
Dolgellau is a town and community in Gwynedd, north-west Wales, lying on the River Wnion, a tributary of the River Mawddach. It was the traditional county town of the historic county of Merionethshire until the county of Gwynedd was created in 1974. Dolgellau is the main base for climbers of Cadair Idris and Mynydd Moel which are visible from the town. Dolgellau is the second largest settlement in southern Gwynedd after Tywyn and includes the community of Penmaenpool.
Llandudno Junction, once known as Tremarl, is a village in the county borough of Conwy, Wales. It is part of the ancient parish of Llangystennin, and it is located south of Llandudno. It adjoins Deganwy and is to the east of the walled town of Conwy, which is on the opposite side of the River Conwy. The population is 6,722 (2011) and is part of the community of Conwy, and comprises the wards of Marl and Pensarn. The built-up area of Llandudno Junction and Deganwy had a population of 10,658.
Pen-y-Bont railway station is a railway station serving the village of Penybont, in mid Wales. It is situated on the Heart of Wales Line 48+1⁄2 miles (78.1 km) south west of Shrewsbury. The station is located closer to the villages of Crossgates and Fron than it is to Penybont itself, and is now the closest station to the town of Rhayader, about 9 miles to the west.

The name is derived from the Welsh Pen Y Ffordd – roughly translated as "the highest or furthest point of the road". The resident population of Penyffordd, as measured in the 2001 Census, was 3,715, increasing to 3,874 at the 2011 census.

The Beacons Way is a waymarked long distance footpath in the Brecon Beacons National Park, Wales. It is a linear route which runs for 99 miles (159 km) east to west through the National Park, and passes many of the most important landmarks and mountain peaks in the mountain range. It also includes a few of the towns in the park as well as popular attractions such as Carreg Cennen Castle near Llandeilo at the western end of the path.

The Mold Railway was a railway company that built a line in north-east Wales. The line linked Mold to Chester and it opened on 14 August 1849. The company built a mineral branch line to Ffrith, opened in November 1849. Mold itself was an important regional centre, and contained considerable mineral resources.

Pedairffordd Halt railway station was a station on the Tanat Valley Light Railway, located 1.3 miles south of Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant, Powys, Wales in the hamlet Pedair-Ffordd. The station opened in 1904 and closed in 1951. There station was located on the east side of a level crossing.

Llansilin Road railway station was a station on the Tanat Valley Light Railway in Llangedwyn, Powys, Wales. It had the "Road" suffix due to being 3 miles south from Llansilin and 4 miles by road. The station was located close to the hamlet of Pen-y-bont Llanerch Emrys, two miles east of Llangedwyn village, where the road from Llansilin joins the valley. The station opened in 1904 and formally closed in 1951. The short platform was situated between the railway and the road and had a corrugated iron shelter with a forward sloping roof, two lamps and a nameboard. There was a loop on the north side to serve a cattle dock as well as a siding from the west end serving a wharf in the goods yard, all controlled by a ground frame. The platform is still extant in the goods yard site.
Pantyffordd Halt railway station served the area of Pant-y-ffordd, in the historical county of Glamorgan, Wales, from 1929 to 1962 on the Neath and Brecon Railway.
