Hylaea is a genus of flowering plants in the dogbane family, Apocynaceae, first described as a genus in 1999. It is native to the Amazon rainforest of southern Venezuela and northwestern Brazil. [1]
The flowering plants, also known as angiosperms, Angiospermae or Magnoliophyta, are the most diverse group of land plants, with 64 orders, 416 families, approximately 13,164 known genera and c. 369,000 known species. Like gymnosperms, angiosperms are seed-producing plants.
