Hyponephele pulchella is a butterfly species belonging to the family Nymphalidae. [1] It is found from Turkestan to the western parts of the Himalayas and in Afghanistan.
The meadow brown is a butterfly found in the Palearctic realm. Its range includes Europe south of 62°N, Russia eastwards to the Urals, Asia Minor, Iraq, Iran, North Africa and the Canary Islands. The larvae feed on grasses.
Siegmund Adrian von Rottemburg was a German entomologist in the 18th century. Little is known about him by scientific historians. In the 1770s he took over Johann Siegfried Hufnagel's lepidopterological collection and published several works about it in Der Naturforscher.
