IQ is a news platform for the international live music industry. Its readership of more than 100,000 professionals a month comprises live music professionals, including concert promoters, booking agents, festival organisers, artist managers and venue operators, in more than 60 countries. [1]

Contents

IQ comprises a regular print & digital magazine, several annual reports and daily news, insight and analysis. The IQ family also includes two annual conferences: ILMC, the live music industry's largest international gathering, and the International Festival Forum (IFF).

History and profile

IQ Magazine was established in late 2004 as the journal of the International Live Music Conference (ILMC), the leading annual gathering of professionals working in live music and entertainment, and originally stood for ILMC Quarterly. [2] The magazine is now published on a bimonthly basis, while its website is updated daily.

In print and online, IQ presents industry updates, news analysis and features to both conference delegates and the industry at large. [3] Its articles have been cited by Forbes, [4] the NME , [5] the Evening Standard , [6] Complete Music Update, [7] Resident Advisor , [8] Pollstar [9] and the Mayor of London. [10]

ILMC and IFF

ILMC began in 1989, and was the first dedicated gathering of leading figures in the global concert industry. [11] Some 1,800 people attended the most recent conference, ILMC 31, [12] at the Royal Garden Hotel in London in March 2019. Previous ILMC speakers include Michael Rapino, [13] Arthur Fogel, [14] Marc Geiger, [15] Herman Schueremans, [16] Peter Mensch [17] and Paul McGuinness, [18] and artists such as Roger Daltrey, [19] Dua Lipa [20] and Nick Mason. [21]

The conference is also home to an annual awards ceremony, the Arthur Awards, which honours live music professionals and companies. Previous winners include Harvey Goldsmith, John Giddings, the Royal Albert Hall, The O2 Arena, Adele agent Lucy Dickins, CTS Eventim, Michael Chugg, Rock Werchter and Glastonbury Festival. [22]

IFF, which launched in 2015, [23] is an invitation-only networking event for music festivals and booking agents.

Dua Lipa is the debut studio album by English singer Dua Lipa. Originally intended to be released in September 2016, the album was released through Warner Bros. Records on 2 June 2017, following several delays in order to add new songs. Lipa had relocated from Kosovo to London at the age of fifteen to pursue a career in music. She took a gap year after finishing school and used social media as a platform to begin, influenced by the discovery of Justin Bieber. After working as a model and waitress, she was introduced to Ben Mawson of TAP Management, who signed the singer to a management and publishing deal which led her to signing a record deal with Warner Bros. Work on the album began with Lipa partaking in an artist development phase in 2013. Of the 25 songs included on all editions of the album, Lipa co-wrote 21. She worked with a variety of writers and producers, finding a kindred spirit with Stephen "Koz" Kozmeniuk who produced several tracks. Work on the album took place between London, Los Angeles, Toronto and New York, and was finished in 2017.

It is an electropop and tropical house track with an EDM production that includes dance-pop beats and dancehall rhythms. The lyrics see Lipa giving herself a set of rules in order to get over a former boyfriend. Lipa stated that it was the breakup song that she wished she had when she was breaking up with someone.

"Homesick" is a song by English singer Dua Lipa from her eponymous debut studio album (2017). The song was written by Lipa and Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, who also contributes additional vocals. Martin's engineer Bill Rahko handled the production. The song was released by Warner Bros. Records for digital download and streaming on 1 December 2017, as the album's third promotional single. A week later, it was promoted to top 40 and adult contemporary radio formats in Belgium and the Netherlands.

Future Nostalgia is the second studio album by English singer Dua Lipa, released on 27 March 2020 by Warner Records. Lipa enlisted writers and producers such as Jeff Bhasker, Ian Kirkpatrick, Stuart Price, the Monsters & Strangerz, and Koz in order to create a "nostalgic" pop and disco record with influences from dance-pop and electronic music, inspired by the music that Lipa enjoyed during her childhood.

The Future Nostalgia Tour is the ongoing second concert tour and first arena tour by English singer Dua Lipa, in support of her second studio album, Future Nostalgia (2020). Originally announced in December 2019 and scheduled to take place from April to June of the following year, the tour was postponed several times due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. It began on 9 February 2022 in Miami and will conclude on 16 November of that year in Perth, with several shows throughout North America, Europe, Latin America and Oceania. Griff, Tove Lo, Angèle, Megan Thee Stallion, Caroline Polachek and Lolo Zouaï served as supporting acts on the tour.
