Ibrahim Khaleel is an Indian cricketer who played as a wicket-keeper for Hyderabad and former captain of the United States national cricket team. A right-handed batsman,Khaleel made his first-class debut in 2002. In 2007,he opted to participate in the now defunct Indian Cricket League,competing for the Hyderabad Heroes. He returned to authorised cricket in 2009,returning to play for Hyderabad. In a 2011 Ranji Trophy match against Assam,he set a record for the most dismissals in a first-class match by a wicket-keeper;taking 14 in total.
Having played for Hyderabad's youth teams at Under-16 and Under-19 level, [1] he made his first-class cricket debut for the team in November 2002,facing Mumbai in a Ranji Trophy match. [2] He took five catches in the first innings of the contest,and two further catches and a stumping in the second. [3] In late 2005,Khaleel reached his first century in first-class cricket,remaining 128 not out against Andhra. [4] He followed this up with another century in his next match,reaching 102 in the second innings against Punjab. [5] Later that month,he bettered his debut performance with the gloves,taking nine catches in a match against Services. [6]
He chose to participate in the Indian Cricket League (ICL) for the duration of its existence, [7] ruling him out of international selection,or participation in any cricket authorised by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). He was part of the Hyderabad Heroes side which won the ICL 20s Grand Championship 2007–08, [8] and the ICL India XI which won the ICL 20s World Series 2007–08. [9]
When the BCCI offered an amnesty for ICL players to return to first-class cricket,Khaleel joined the majority of his colleagues in accepting the offer, [10] and made his return for Hyderabad in November 2009. [2] He bettered his previous best with the bat in late 2010,scoring 141 runs in the first innings against Jharkhand,sharing a partnership of 175 runs with Bavanaka Sandeep in the process. [11] A year later,in a match against Assam,he took four catches and three stumpings in the first innings and another seven catches in the second innings to set a new record for the total number of wicket-keeper dismissals in a first-class match. [12] [13] The previous record had been set by Wayne James,who took eleven catches and two stumpings in the 1995–96 Logan Cup final. [14] [15]
In March 2017,he was called up to a selection camp with the potential of representing the United States at the 2017 ICC World Cricket League Division Three tournament. [16] Khaleel has played league cricket in Chicago and has US permanent residency status. [16] In September 2017,he was appointed the captain of the United States side,ahead of the Auty Cup. [17] In January 2018,he was named as the captain of the United States squad for the 2017–18 Regional Super50 tournament in the West Indies. [18]
On 3 June 2018,he was selected to play for the Montreal Tigers in the players' draft for the inaugural edition of the Global T20 Canada tournament. [19] [20] In August 2018,he was named as the captain of the United States' squad for the 2018–19 ICC World Twenty20 Americas Qualifier tournament in Morrisville,North Carolina. [21]
In October 2018,he was sacked as captain of the United States team and replaced by Saurabh Netravalkar. [22]
The Indian Cricket League (ICL) was a short-lived cricket league that ran from 2007 to 2009. It was sponsored by Zee Entertainment Enterprises,a media company. The ICL had two seasons,featuring four international teams and nine domestic teams from India,Pakistan and Bangladesh. The matches were played in the Twenty20 format. A 50-over tournament was also held in early 2008.

Robin Bist is an Indian cricketer who plays for Uttarakhand in domestic cricket. He is a right-hand batsman and an off-break bowler. He was part of Delhi Daredevils squad in the Indian Premier League.
Shreyas Santosh Iyer is an Indian international cricketer who plays for the Indian cricket team as a right-handed batter. He has played in all formats for the Indian cricket team. Iyer scored a century in his debut test match and a half-century in the second innings against New Zealand in November 2021,thus becoming the first Indian player to achieve the milestone. Iyer plays for Mumbai in domestic cricket and captains the Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League. He played for the India Under-19 cricket team at the 2014 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. He was named in the India Squad for 2023 Cricket World Cup,and scored a century against New Zealand in the semi-finals. He was a part of the Indian squad that won the 2023 Asia Cup. He won his first IPL title as captain in the 2024 Indian Premier League,becoming the 5th Indian player to lead a team to the IPL title victory.
The 2016–17 Ranji Trophy was the 83rd season of the Ranji Trophy,the premier first-class cricket tournament in India. Unlike previous seasons,the 2016–17 tournament was played at neutral venues. Captains and coaches were supportive of the change. Chhattisgarh cricket team made their debut in the competition,becoming the 28th team to compete in this edition of the Ranji Trophy. Mumbai were the defending champions. Gujarat beat Mumbai in the final by 5 wickets to win their first title.

Vidarbha won the tournament,beating Delhi by 9 wickets in the final,to win their first Ranji Trophy title. Vidarbha made their Ranji Trophy debut in the 1957–58 season,making it the third-longest wait before a team won their maiden title. Vidarbha's captain,Faiz Fazal,said that "winning the Ranji Trophy has been the biggest achievement in my career".
