Nandan Mohanrao Nilekani is an Indian entrepreneur. He co-founded Infosys and is the non-executive chairman of Infosys replacing R Seshasayee and Ravi Venkatesan,who were the co-chairs of the board,on 24 August 2017. After the exit of Vishal Sikka,Nilekani was appointed as non-executive chairman of the board effective 24 August 2017. He was the chairman of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI). After a successful career at Infosys,he headed the Government of India's technology committee,TAGUP. He is a member of Indian National Congress but not active in politics as of 2019.
Raghuram Govind Rajan is an Indian economist and the Katherine Dusak Miller Distinguished Service Professor of Finance at the University of Chicago's Booth School of Business. Between 2003 and 2006 he was Chief Economist and director of research at the International Monetary Fund. From September 2013 through September 2016 he was the 23rd Governor of the Reserve Bank of India. In 2015,during his tenure at the RBI,he became the Vice-Chairman of the Bank for International Settlements.
John Matthai CIE (1886–1959) was an economist who served as Independent India's first Railway Minister and subsequently as India's Finance Minister,taking office shortly after the presentation of India's first Budget,in 1948. He was born on January 10,1886,as the son of Challiyal Thomas Matthai and Anna Thayyil to an Anglican Syrian Christian family. He graduated in economics from the University of Madras. He served as a Professor and Head in University of Madras from 1922 to 1925. He presented two Budgets as India's Finance Minister,but resigned following the 1950 Budget in protest against the increasing power of the Planning Commission and P. C. Mahalanobis. He was the first Chairman of the State Bank of India when it was set up in 1955. He was the founding President of the Governing Body of the National Council of Applied Economic Research (NCAER) in New Delhi,India's first independent economic policy institute established in 1956. He served as the Vice Chancellor of the University of Mumbai from 1955 till 1957 and then as the first Vice Chancellor of the University of Kerala from 1957 to 1959. His nephew,Verghese Kurien,is generally recognized as the architect of India's White Revolution. Dr. John Matthai Centre,Thrissur,located on the large plot of land donated by his family,is named in his honour. His wife,Achamma Matthai was an Indian social worker and a women's rights activist. The Government of India honoured him in 1954 with the award of Padma Shri,the fourth highest Indian civilian award,for his contributions to the society,
Sir Chintaman Dwarakanath Deshmukh,was an Indian civil servant and the first Indian to be appointed the Governor of the Reserve Bank of India in 1943 by the British Raj authorities. He subsequently served as the Finance Minister in the Union Cabinet (1950–1956). It was during this time that he also became a founding member of the Governing Body of NCAER,the National Council of Applied Economic Research in New Delhi,India's first independent economic policy institute established in 1956 at the behest of Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru. After resignation from Union Cabinet he worked as Chairman of UGC (1956–1961). He served as Vice-Chancellor of University of Delhi (1962–67). He was also President of Indian Statistical Institute from 1945 to 1964,Honorary Chairman of National Book Trust (1957–60). He founded India International Center in 1959 and served as Lifetime President of it. He was also chairman of Indian Institute of Public Administration.
Prabhat Patnaik is an Indian Marxist economist and political commentator. He taught at the Centre for Economic Studies and Planning in the School of Social Sciences at Jawaharlal Nehru University in New Delhi,from 1974 until his retirement in 2010. He was the vice-chairman of Kerala State Planning Board from June 2006 to May 2011.

Deepak Nayyar is an Indian economist and academician. He is a professor of economics at Jawaharlal Nehru University,New Delhi and Chairperson of the Board of Governors of Centre for the Study of Developing Societies (CSDS) New Delhi. He has taught at the University of Oxford,the University of Sussex,the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIM-C),and the New School for Social Research,New York City. He was Vice Chancellor of the University of Delhi from 2000 to 2005.

He served as first vice-chairman of the government of India think-tank NITI Aayog between January 2015 and August 2017. He is a former Chief Economist of the Asian Development Bank. He was awarded the Padma Bhushan by the President of India in 2012 for his contributions in the field of economics and Public Policy. He is an authority on free trade and widely regarded as the foremost expert in the world on Indian economy.

Nirmala Sitharaman is an Indian economist,politician and a senior bjp leader serving as the Minister of Finance and Minister of Corporate Affairs of the Government of India since 2019. She is a member of the Rajya Sabha,the upper house of the Indian Parliament,representing Karnataka since 2016 and previously represented Andhra Pradesh from 2014 to 2016. Sitharaman previously served as the 28th Defence Minister from 2017 to 2019,thereby becoming India's second female defence minister and the second female finance minister after Indira Gandhi,and the first full-time female minister to hold each of those portfolios. She served as junior minister in the Modi ministry between 2014 and 2017,holding successive positions,first for her dual appointment as the 10th Minister of State in the Ministry of Finance and the 1st Minister of State in the Ministry of Corporate Affairs from May to November 2014,and then as the 6th Minister of State for the Ministry of Commerce and Industry from May 2014 to September 2017,before being elevated to senior posts within the Union Cabinet.

Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister of India (PMEAC) is a non-constitutional,non-permanent and independent body constituted to give economic advice to the Government of India,specifically the Prime Minister. The council serves to highlight key economic issues facing the country to the government of India from a neutral viewpoint. It advises the Prime Minister on economic issues like inflation,microfinance,and industrial output.

Established in New Delhi in 1956,it acquired considerable national and international standing within only a few decades of its founding. It is one of a handful of think tanks globally that combine rigorous analysis and policy outreach with deep data collection capabilities,especially for household surveys.
The Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE) is an independent private limited entity that serves both as an economic think-tank as well as a business information company. CMIE research group has built databases on the Indian economy and private companies. CMIE provides this information in the form of databases and research reports via a subscription-based business model. It is headquartered in Mumbai,with additional offices in India.
Raghbendra Jha is an Indian economist and an academic who is a professor emeritus in the Arndt-Corden Department of Economics at the Crawford School of Public Policy at Australian National University. Jha's research focuses on public economics,macroeconomics,development economics,and the economy of India. He has authored and edited numerous books,including Macroeconomics for Developing Countries,Modern Public Economics,Facets of India’s Economy and Her Society,Environmental Sustainability:A Consumption Approach,and Macroeconomics for Development:Prognosis and Prospects and several others.
