Ion Varta (born 12 December 1958,Larga,Briceni) is an academic and politician from the Republic of Moldova.
After graduating in 1982 from Moldova State University with a degree in history,he joined the faculty at Ion CreangăState Pedagogical University.
From 2005 to 2009,Varta served as member of the Parliament of Moldova. He is a member of the Commission for the Study of the Communist Dictatorship in Moldova. [1]
The unification of Moldova and Romania is a popular concept in the two countries that began during the Revolutions of 1989. The Romanian Revolution in 1989 and the independence of Moldova in 1991 further contributed to the development of a movement for the unification of the two Romanian-speaking countries.
