She ran unsuccessfully for a seat in the United States House of Representatives, seeking to represent New Jersey's 7th District, in 2006 and 2008. She was narrowly defeated by incumbent Representative Mike Ferguson in 2006 but lost by a wider margin to Leonard Lance in the November 4, 2008 election.
