Victoria Flynn (born July 14,1972) [1] is an American lawyer and Republican politician who has represented the 13th Legislative District in the New Jersey General Assembly since taking office on January 11,2022.
Flynn was born in Hoboken,New Jersey,and graduated from Rutgers University and Seton Hall University School of Law.. [2]
In 2016,Flynn was elected to the board of education of the Holmdel Township Public Schools and in 2018 became president of the board,having previously served on the board of education of the Nutley Public Schools. [3]
Flynn ran in the primary for New Jersey's 13th legislative district against incumbent Republican Serena DiMaso. [4] She won the November 2,2021,general election alongside Republican Gerard Scharfenberger,defeating Democratic candidates Allison Friedman and Erin Howard. [5]
Flynn was one of a record seven new Republican Assemblywomen elected in the 2022 general election,joining seven Republican women incumbents who won re-election that year. [6]

Serena DiMaso is an American Republican Party politician who represented the 13th Legislative District in the New Jersey General Assembly from 2018 to 2022. She replaced Declan O'Scanlon,who ran successfully for a seat in the New Jersey Senate. DiMaso had previously served on the Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders and as mayor of Holmdel Township. In June 2021,DiMaso lost the Republican Primary to Holmdel Board of Education President Vicky Flynn. DiMaso left office in January 2022.

Scharfenberger is an American politician,adjunct professor and Republican Party politician who has served in the New Jersey General Assembly representing the 13th Legislative District since 2020,replacing Amy Handlin. Scharfenberger had previously served on the Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders and as Mayor of Middletown Township.
The 2017 New Jersey General Assembly elections were held on November 7,2017,to elect members to all 80 seats of the New Jersey General Assembly. Prior to the elections,Democrats held a 52–28 majority in the lower house. Overall,the Democrats increased their majority by 2 to a super-majority at 54–26,due to holding all their seats as well as picking up open seats in District 2 and District 16. This tied Democrats for their largest majority since 1979.
