Janet Mackenzie (born 1962) is a British Anglican priest and former teacher. Since September 2016, she has been the Archdeacon of Hertford in the Diocese of St Albans.

Early life and education

Mackenzie was born in 1962. [1] [2] She studied at Westminster College, Oxford, a teacher training college, and graduated with a Bachelor of Education (BEd) degree in 1986. [1] She then worked in education. [3] In 2004, she entered Westcott House, Cambridge, an Anglican theological college in the Liberal Catholic tradition, to train for Holy Orders. [2] During this time, she also studied theology at Anglia Ruskin University, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in 2008. [1]

Ordained ministry

Mackenzie was ordained in the Church of England as a deacon in 2006 and as a priest in 2007. [2] From 2006 to 2010, she served her curacy at St Swithun's Church, Sandy in the Diocese of St Albans. [1] [2] In 2010, she joined the Church of St Augustine of Canterbury, Luton as priest-in-charge. [2] [3] She was additionally Area Dean of Luton between 2012 and 2016. [3] She was made Vicar of St Augustine's in 2014. [2]

On 6 September 2016, Mackenzie was collated as Archdeacon of Hertford during a service at St Andrew and St George's Church, Stevenage. [4] On 19 November 2016, she was installed as a Canon of St Albans Cathedral; all archdeacons of the diocese are made canons of the cathedral. [5]

Joanne Kelly-Moore is a New Zealand Anglican priest who has been the Dean of St Albans since 2021. She was previously the Dean of Auckland in the Anglican Church of New Zealand from 2010 to 2017, and then Archdeacon of Canterbury in the Church of England.

Gordon Ogilvie is a retired British Anglican priest. He was Archdeacon of Nottingham from 1996 until 2006.

Noel Michael Roy Beasley is a British Church of England bishop and epidemiologist. Since May 2015, he has been the Bishop of Hertford. From 2003 to 2010, he worked at Westcott House, Cambridge, an Anglican theological college, first as chaplain and then as a tutor and the college's vice-principal. During this time, he was also an academic of Imperial College London. From 2010 to 2015, he was Director of Mission for the Diocese of Oxford.

Janet Elizabeth "Jan" McFarlane is a British Church of England bishop and former speech and language therapist. She has been a Canon Residentiary of Lichfield Cathedral and honorary assistant bishop in the Diocese of Lichfield since 2020. She previously served as Bishop of Repton since her consecration as a bishop on 29 June 2016; and (additionally) Acting Bishop of Derby from 31 August 2018 to February 2019.

Robert Wilfrid Springett is a British Anglican bishop. He has served as the Bishop of Tewkesbury since his consecration as a bishop on 30 November 2016. He previously served as the Archdeacon of Cheltenham in the same diocese from 2010.

Helen Margaret Cunliffe is a British Anglican priest who was Archdeacon of St Albans from 2003 to 2007.

Jacqueline Ann "Jackie" Searle is a British Anglican bishop. Since 2018, she has served as the Bishop of Crediton, a suffragan bishop of the Diocese of Exeter. She had previously been the Archdeacon of Gloucester between 2012 and 2018.

Ronald David Hesketh, is a British Anglican priest and retired military chaplain. From 2001 to 2006, he served as Chaplain-in-Chief, and thereby head of the Royal Air Force Chaplains Branch, and Archdeacon for the Royal Air Force.

Bruce Duncan, is a retired Anglican priest, chaplain, and academic administrator. From 1995 to 2002, he was the first Principal of Sarum College, an ecumenical theological college in Salisbury, England.

Beverley Anne Mason is a British Anglican bishop. Since 2018, she has served as the Bishop of Warrington, a suffragan bishop in the Diocese of Liverpool. She was the Archdeacon of Richmond and Craven in the Diocese of Leeds from 2016 to 2018.

John Kiddle is an Anglican priest: in September 2015 he was appointed Archdeacon of Wandsworth.

Jeanette Margaret Gosney is a British Anglican priest. Since 2020, she has served as Archdeacon of Suffolk in the Diocese of St Edmundsbury and Ipswich. She was previously a chaplain, theological college tutor, and in parish ministry.
