Jitin Puthenchery (born 24 August 1989) is an Indian film actor and assistant director who works predominantly in the Malayalam film industry. [1] He is the son of popular Malayalam lyricist and poet Girish Puthenchery. [2]
Jitin was born on 24 August 1989 and is the elder son of Gireesh Puthenchery and Beena. Jitin was born in karaparamba near Eranhipalam in Kozhikode district of kerala. [3] He completed his primary education at St. Joseph's Boys' High School Calicut and graduation at Bangalore University. He is married to Divya Mohanan, a software engineer. His younger brother Din Nath is a lyricist and Assistant director [4]
Jitin made his debut in the Malayalam film industry as an assistant director in 2013 through Sudhir Ambalappad's movie BreakingNews Live. [5] He later worked as an assistant director in Matini, Koothara and Mani Ratnam .in 2016, he joined Farhan Akhtar-Riteish Sidwani team's Excel Entertainment, a Mumbai-based film production company, and later worked as a director's assistant on Farhan's Rock-On 2.
In 2016 he starred in his friend Dominic Arun's short film Mrityunjaya. He later appeared in a small role in Dominic's Tovino movie Tharangam, he also worked as a co-writer and assistant director for Tharangam . Later he was auditioned for Shankar Ramakrishnan's debut movie Pathinettam Padi, in which he played the role of a state school student named Giri and he was notable for portraying the character. [6]
He later starred in popular Malayalam director Kamal's movie Pranaya Meenukalude Kadal Tovino's Edakkad Battalion and the Mohalal-Priyadarshan team's Maraikar Arabikadalinte Simham. in 2021 he won critical acclaim for his portrayal of the protagonist in Don Palathara's movie SanthoshathinteOnnamRahasyam . Madhupal Kannambathu is an Indian actor, director, and screenwriter who works in Malayalam cinema. Madhupal made his acting debut with Kashmeeram in 1994 and his directorial debut with Thalappavu (2008), which was about Arikkad Varghese and won several awards in 2008.
Girish Puthenchery was a noted Malayalam lyricist, poet, scriptwriter and screenwriter, esteemed for his pivotal role as a lyricist in Malayalam cinema. He was often hailed as the aristocratic lyricist of Malayalam and was admired for his unique and distinctive writing style. He also served as the director of Indian Performance Rights Society's Malayalam division (I.P.R.S) and was a member of the governing councils of both Kerala Kalamandalam and the Kerala Lalithakala Academy. He made his debut with the film Enquiry in 1989 .He won the Kerala State Film Award for Best Lyricist seven times. He also holds the record for writing the highest number of songs in the Malayalam film industry in the shortest period of time. He died on 10 February 2010 at a private hospital in Kozhikode Due to a severe brain hemorrhage.
K. Surendran, better known by his stage name Indrans, is an Indian actor and former costume designer, who appears in Malayalam films. He started his film career as a costume designer and actor in 1981 and got a breakthrough in 1994 with the comedy movie CID Unnikrishnan B.A., B.Ed. Indrans was popular for his comedy roles in the 1990s and 2000s.

Santhoshathinte Onnam Rahasyam is a 2021 Malayalam film directed by Don Palathara starring Jitin Puthenchery and Rima Kallingal. The film was premiered at the International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK) in Thiruvananthapuram on 21 February 2021. This is a first of its kind experimental movie in Malayalam film industry as the entire movie is of an 85 minute single shot. The film follows a car ride taken by a young journalist and an aspiring actor. The film was released in Neestream and six other OTT Platforms in July 2021.

The film stars Tovino Thomas in triple roles alongside Basil Joseph, Krithi Shetty, Surabhi Lakshmi and Aishwarya Rajesh amongst others. The soundtrack featured five songs composed by Dhibu Ninan Thomas and lyrics written by Manu Manjith, whereas Krithika Nelson, Krishna Kanth, Nagarjun Sharma and Vikram Edke, wrote lyrics for the Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi versions, respectively. The album was released under the Think Music label on 26 September 2024.
