Jon Button (born February 10, 1971) is an American bass player based in Los Angeles, California. Button has played on commercial, film and television scores and toured with a number of well-known artists. He plays both electric and upright string bass.

Biography

Jon Button was born into a musical family in Fairbanks, Alaska. The youngest of five siblings, Button started learning piano at age four, and bass at seven. During his teen years, he played in jazz and blues bands and with local symphonies and orchestras. In high school, Button won music scholarships and later attended the University of North Texas' music program. [1]

Button moved to Los Angeles in 1994 and found work playing on film and television scores, including the Emmy Award winning Batman Beyond . [2] He has played on a number of recordings, including Borrowed Heaven by the Corrs [3] and Tour Fijación Oral by Shakira. [4] He has performed live and toured with such well-known artists as Michelle Branch, Rachael Yamagata, Mandy Moore, Shakira, Sheryl Crow, Roger Daltrey and The Who. Button also played at the musical benefit Live 8 [1] and played upright bass with The Who during an acoustic concert associated with The Who's Super Bowl performance. [5]

In 2009, Button toured as bassist in Roger Daltrey's band for the Use It or Lose It tour. [6] The band also opened for Eric Clapton during several dates in 2010, [7] and scheduled more tour dates for 2012. He is currently playing on tour with The Who to replace Pino Palladino.

Button has been married to actress Terryn Westbrook since 2011. They have one child.

It was sent to Spanish radio stations on 24 February 2007, as the fourth and final single from the album. "Las de la Intuición" is a synth-pop and Euro house track whose lyrics talk about female intuition. Oral Fixation Tour was the fourth concert tour by Colombian singer Shakira. It was launched in support of her sixth and seventh studio albums Fijación Oral, Vol. 1 (2005). and Oral Fixation, Vol. 2 (2005). It began on 14 June 2006 at the Feria De Muestras in Zaragoza, Spain. With assistance from the Creative Artists Agency, she visited twenty-seven cities and performed forty-one shows across five continents. The tour was additionally sponsored by Spanish automobile manufacturer SEAT, with whom Shakira also collaborated to support her Pies Descalzos Foundation. The tour concluded on 23 December 2007 in Tbilisi, Georgia.

No Plan B, also known as the Roger Daltrey Band, is an English rock band assembled by The Who singer Roger Daltrey to support performances and tours outside The Who. Daltrey's band includes Simon Townshend on guitar and vocals, Frank Simes on lead guitar, Jon Button on bass, Loren Gold on keyboards and Scott Devours on drums. Frank Simes is also musical director for the band. In a 2010 appearance on The Alan Titchmarsh Show, Daltrey called the band No Plan B.

The Who's Tommy Orchestral is a live album by English rock singer Roger Daltrey, performing The Who's 1969 album Tommy alongside members of The Who touring band and a symphony orchestra conducted by Keith Levenson. It was recorded in July 2018 in Bethel, New York, at the site of the original Woodstock festival, during a US tour of the concert. Later, in February 2019, Levenson directed and recorded the Budapest Scoring Orchestra in Budapest with new arrangements from David Campbell, to add a new orchestral backing to the album.
