Josh Osho is an English singer-songwriter from South London, who was previously signed to Island Records.
Osho was brought up in South London by his parents Nigerian born father and Irish Nigerian mother. He attended Graveney School in Tooting, South London where he found himself good at English as well as being a keen footballer. He began writing songs from an early age, when one of his mother's friends threw out a guitar, which he then started to learn. Osho was brought up religiously, accompanying his mother to church twice a week.
Osho was soon brought to the attention of Island Records and signed in mid-2011. [1]
Osho's first single "Redemption Days" was released on 4 September 2011 and featured Ghostface Killah. In December 2011, Osho performed an acoustic cover of Adele's "Someone like You" for SB.TV.
In early 2012, he toured with Rizzle Kicks as their support act. In April 2012, while touring with Emeli Sandé, Osho released his follow-up single "Giants" featuring Childish Gambino. He performed an acoustic version of the song for T4's Freshly Squeezed. In May 2012, after performing "Redemption Days" on Later... with Jools Holland , Osho's music started to become noticed by mainstream media. "Redemption Days" became Record of the Week on BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 2 and BBC Radio 1Xtra as well as being added to the B List of all three major stations. On 8 June 2012, The Sun reported that Osho was to write a single with Tom Jones after the pair met backstage at the final of The Voice UK . Osho soon confirmed this via Twitter. On 15 June, Osho performed his track "Redemption Days" and a cover of "Too Close" by Alex Clare in Radio 1's Live Lounge. On 22 June Osho performed "Redemption Days" on CBBC programme Friday Download.
He played his first headline gig to a sold out Jazz Café, Camden Town on 25 June to coincide with the release day of his album L.I.F.E (Learning Is For Ever) . This album received mixed reviews with NME giving it a score of 2.5 stars out of 5. The reviewer noted "There’s no denying Osho’s got a great voice and a backstory of X Factor magnitude", but added "he’s forgotten that you can have all the motivational verses in the world, but you still need tunes". On 1 July 2012, Osho joined Tom Jones on stage at his Hammersmith Apollo gig to perform a surprise duet. On 13 July, Osho supported Jessie J at her Warwick Castle gig. Through summer 2012, Osho played a handful of headline gigs around London before beginning a festival tour including T4 on the Beach, Wireless Festival, T in the Park and V Festival. On 3 September 2012, Osho released an extended play entitled "The John Doe EP". The seven previously unreleased tracks were made available for free, via Soulculture. Later that week, he joined The Script for four dates of their UK Tour, including a night London at O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire on 12 September. On 21 September, Osho appeared on the programme 'BBC Four Sessions with Sir Tom Jones', performing a cover the song "Black, Brown & White" by Big Bill Broonzy with Jones and his band. In mid-November 2012, Osho toured with Gabrielle Aplin across England and Wales.
In October 2012 The Independent labelled him as "one to watch". [1]
On 13 January 2013, Osho's third single "Imperfections" was added to the BBC Radio 2 A Playlist, peaking at number 40 on the UK Airplay Chart. Osho is set to direct the music video for the song. On 18 February, Osho premiered the music video for "Even in War" from his most recent release "The John Doe EP". As of March 2013, Osho had been dropped by Island Records. On 7 March, Osho played his first gig of 2013, supporting Ne-Yo at Under the Bridge in London. He is currently planning a second album and headline tour.

Blur are an English rock band formed in London in 1988. The band consists of singer Damon Albarn, guitarist Graham Coxon, bassist Alex James and drummer Dave Rowntree. Their debut album, Leisure (1991), incorporated the sounds of Madchester and shoegazing. Following a stylistic change influenced by English guitar pop groups such as the Kinks, the Beatles and XTC, Blur released Modern Life Is Rubbish (1993), Parklife (1994) and The Great Escape (1995). As a result, the band helped to popularise the Britpop genre and achieved mass popularity in the UK, aided by a chart battle with rival band Oasis in 1995 dubbed "The Battle of Britpop".
The Verve were an English rock band formed in Wigan, Greater Manchester in 1990 by lead vocalist Richard Ashcroft, guitarist Nick McCabe, bass guitarist Simon Jones and drummer Peter Salisbury. Guitarist and keyboard player Simon Tong later became a member in their first reunion only.
The Libertines are an English rock band, formed in London in 1997 by frontmen Carl Barât (vocals/guitar) and Pete Doherty (vocals/guitar). The band, centred on the songwriting partnership of Barât and Doherty, has also included John Hassall (bass), and Gary Powell (drums) for most of its recording career. The band was part of the garage rock revival and spearheaded the movement in the UK.
Babyshambles were an English rock band established in London. The band was formed by Pete Doherty during a hiatus from the Libertines. As of 2013 the band includes Mick Whitnall, Drew McConnell and Adam Ficek. Babyshambles have released three albums—Down in Albion (2005), Shotter's Nation (2007) and Sequel to the Prequel (2013)—three EPs and a number of singles.
Biffy Clyro are a Scottish rock band that formed in Kilmarnock, East Ayrshire, composed of Simon Neil, James Johnston, and Ben Johnston. Currently signed to 14th Floor Records, they have released nine studio albums, six of which reached the top five in the UK Albums Chart, with their sixth studio album, Opposites claiming their first UK No. 1 album. Three consecutive studio albums peaked at number one in the UK official albums chart. After their first three albums, the band expanded their following significantly in 2007 with the release of their fourth album, Puzzle, creating more mainstream songs with simpler rhythms and distancing themselves from the more unusual dissonant style present in their previous three albums. Puzzle peaked at No. 2 on the UK Albums Chart on 16 June 2007. The album went platinum in the UK in 2012, having sold over 300,000 copies. In the early 2010’s, they built up a reputation of being one of the biggest rock bands in the UK.
Kasabian are an English rock band formed in Leicester in 1997 by lead vocalist Tom Meighan, guitarist and second vocalist Sergio Pizzorno, guitarist Chris Karloff and bassist Chris Edwards. Drummer Ian Matthews joined in 2004. Karloff left the band in 2006 and founded a new band called Black Onassis. Jay Mehler joined as touring lead guitarist in 2006, leaving for Liam Gallagher's Beady Eye in 2013, to be replaced by Tim Carter, who later became a full-time band member in 2021. Meighan left the band in July 2020, with Pizzorno stepping up as full-time lead vocalist.
The Subways is an English rock band from Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire. Formed in 2002, the band consists of Billy Lunn, Charlotte Cooper, and Camille Phillips (drums). Founding-drummer Josh Morgan left the band for personal reasons in October 2020.

Kids in Glass Houses are a Welsh rock band from Cardiff. The band's name was inspired by the lyrics "not throwing stones at you anymore" from the Glassjaw song "Tip Your Bartender". The band achieved success on the strength of the singles "Give Me What I Want" and "Saturday" off their debut album Smart Casual in 2008. The band released their second album Dirt in early 2010, releasing four singles, most notably "Matters at All". The band's third album, In Gold Blood, was released on 15 August 2011. Their fourth album, Peace, was released on 30 September 2013.
The Enemy are an English indie rock band formed in Coventry in 2006. The band's debut album We'll Live and Die in These Towns (2007) went straight to Number 1 in the UK Albums Chart on release. Their second album Music for the People (2008) went to Number 2 on the UK Albums Chart. Streets in the Sky, their third studio album, was released on 21 May 2012 and was also their third UK top 10 album. Their fourth studio album, It's Automatic, was released on 9 October 2015. After disbanding in 2016, the band reunited in 2022 for two reunion shows in their hometown of Coventry and a UK tour.
Courteeners are an English band formed in Middleton in 2006 by Liam Fray, Michael Campbell, Daniel "Conan" Moores and Mark Cuppello (bass); the latter was replaced by the band's producer Joe Cross in 2015. They previously toured with pianist Adam Payne, who has been featured on every album, but in 2019 was replaced with Elina Lin. In December 2012, the band dropped "The" from their name, continuing simply as "Courteeners".
White Lies are an English post-punk revival band from Ealing, London. Formerly known as Fear of Flying, the core band members are Harry McVeigh, Charles Cave, and Jack Lawrence-Brown (drums). The band performs live as a five-piece, when they are joined by Tommy Bowen and Rob Lee.
Hurts are an English musical duo formed in Manchester in 2009, consisting of singer Theo Hutchcraft and multi-instrumentalist Adam Anderson. They have released five studio albums: Happiness (2010), Exile (2013), Surrender (2015), Desire (2017) and Faith (2020). Their first two albums both reached the top 10 in several countries.
Wolf Gang was a British alternative and symphonic rock band with Max McElligott as lead vocalist. Having played with different musicians, McElligott settled on a live set up in late 2009 which included Lasse Petersen (drums) previously of The Rakes, Gavin Slater (guitar) and James Wood (bass). When playing live the band also toured with a keyboard player, at one time Beau Holland.
Spector are a British indie rock band from London, composed of Frederick Macpherson, Jed Cullen (guitar), Nicolas Py (drums) and Danny Blandy. They’ve released three albums and one compilation. The band's debut album Enjoy It While It Lasts reached number 12 in the UK Albums Chart and went to number one on the Official Record Store Chart on the week of its release.
"Redemption Days" is a song by singer-songwriter Josh Osho. It was released as the first single from his debut studio album, L.I.F.E, on 4 September 2011. The single version features Wu-Tang Clan rapper Ghostface Killah. The album version features only vocals by Osho himself. The single has so far peaked at number 89 on the UK Singles Chart. The song includes a sample from "Lucky Man" by The Verve.
Reverend and the Makers are an English rock band from Sheffield, South Yorkshire. The band is fronted by Jon McClure, nicknamed "The Reverend". Their debut album, The State of Things (2007), helped them gain success in Britain and spawned the UK top 10 single "Heavyweight Champion of the World". The band released their second album, A French Kiss in the Chaos (2009), which led to them being invited to support Oasis on their final tour, playing venues such as Wembley Stadium. The band's third studio album, @Reverend_Makers, was released in 2012, their fourth studio album, ThirtyTwo, was released in 2014 which had more electronic and dance music influences. These were followed by Mirrors in 2015 and The Death Of A King in 2017 which showcased a hard rock and folk influenced sound. Their seventh album, the soul and R&B inflected Heatwave In The Cold North was released in 2023 and became the band's first Top 10 album in the UK in 16 years.
Trampolene are a Welsh alternative rock band from Swansea. They are Jack Jones, Wayne Thomas and Kyle "Mr" Williams.
Jack Jones is a Welsh musician, songwriter and poet. He is the lead singer and guitarist in the alternative rock band Trampolene, and lead guitarist in Peter Doherty and the Puta Madres. He also performs music and spoken word poetry as a solo artist, being the subject of a BBC Radio 4 documentary titled "Another Swansea Poet" broadcast in 2019. He was born in Swansea and currently lives between London, Berlin and Swansea.
