1975 Pan American Games seventh edition of the Pan American Games

The seventh Pan American Games were held in Mexico City, Mexico, from October 12 to October 26, 1975, exactly twenty years after the second Pan American Games were held there. It was the third major sporting event held in the Mexican capital in seven years, after the 1968 Summer Olympics and the 1970 FIFA World Cup.

James A. Pedro is a retired American judo competitor who won multiple World Championships and multiple bronze medals in the Olympics and World Championships. He was born October 30, 1970 in his hometown of Danvers, Massachusetts, and was trained by his father James Pedro Sr., a 1976 Olympic Alternate. Jason Newth Morris is a retired American judoka. He was Born on February 3, 1967 in his hometown of Scotia, New York. Morris a 4 Time Olympian and 2008 Olympic Coach, is best known for winning the silver medal in the -78 kg weight category in the 1992 Summer Olympics and a Bronze Medal in the 1993 World Judo Championships. He is a Hachidan his favorite techniques are Uchi Mata, Tai Otoshi, and his "Sticker or Sticky Foot"(AKA Kosotogari).

Nicholas "Nick" Tritton is a male judoka who grew up in the Perth/Lanark area of Ontario Canada. Nicholas was a member of Canada's National Team for more than ten years and won many medals domestically and internationally including 13 medals on the Grand Slam, Grand Prix and World Cup circuit including back to back bronze medals at the prestigious Tokyo Grand Slam as well as the bronze medal in the men's lightweight division at the 2007 Pan American Games, alongside Cuba's Ronald Girones and another bronze at the 2011 Pan American Games in Mexico. He represented Canada in the sport of Judo at the 2008 Summer & 2012 Summer Olympics and at five World Championships. He won 5 medals at the Pan American Judo Championships. He also earned a bronze medal at the 2005 Francophone Games and a silver at the 2009 Francophone Games.

Peru at the Pan American Games. The Peruvians had participated in all editions of the games, except in 1955 in Mexico City. They have won a total of 19 gold medals, 40 silver and 90 bronze and 149 overall counting the 2019 Panamerican Games in Lima.

Canada at the 2011 Pan American Games

Canada, which is represented by the Canadian Olympic Committee (COC), has competed at the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico from October 14 to 30, 2011. The Canadian team was made up of 492 athletes, the most ever for a non-home Games. On the team all ten provinces and the Northwest Territories are represented. Some sports such as wrestling have sent their strongest team, however sports which offer the most medals have sent for the most part a developmental team. Table Tennis player Anqi Luo was Canada's youngest athlete at the Games while Equestrian athlete Ian Millar was Canada's eldest athlete competing in Guadalajara. Canada has competed in 35 out of the 36 sports on the program. On October 4, 2011 women's football star Christine Sinclair was selected to carry the flag during the opening ceremony. The chef de mission was Jacques Cardyn and the assistant chef de mission was Curt Harnett.

Cristobal Alejandro Aburto Tinoco is a Mexican judoka, who competed in the men's extra-lightweight category. He finished fifth in the 60-kg division at the 2003 Pan American Games in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, and also represented his nation Mexico at the 2004 Summer Olympics.

Judo competitions at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto were held from July 11 to 14 at the Hershey Centre in Mississauga. Due to naming rights the arena was known as the latter for the duration of the games. A total of fourteen judo events were held: seven each for men and women.

Judo competitions at the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru are scheduled to be held between August 8th and 11th, 2019 at the Polideportivo 1, which will also host handball.
